Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23 - 25th February 2013]

Can see Tottenham and chelsea beating Arsenal for the champs spot. Pitty!

Bale is in great form though.

Tottenham V Arsenal on Sunday should be a cracker.

So what's his market value then?

too much for united. depends on if we get cl

Tottenham V Arsenal on Sunday should be a cracker.

if we beat arsenal, we should get 4th as it will boost our confidence and destroy theirs but anything could happen.

our subs actually made a difference today but our bench is still pretty weak and dembele, holtby, parker and especially adebayor need to do a lot better.

it's quite obvious you know he's the best in the pl. you just can't bring yourself to admit it.

It's quite obvious is it? And how exactly have you come to that conclusion?

On current form, yes he's in the best form of anyone in the league, was he in the best form of anyone in the league at the end of November through to the middle of January? No that was RVP.

If I was pushed to name the top 3 right now (over the entire season to date) I would go with

1- RVP
2- Suarez
3- Bale/Mata - cant pick between the two

EDIT: Actually I think I'd go with Mata, done it over the entire season rather than just the last couple of months

Not bad, not bad at all. Certainly better than the potential of a Johnson, Lucas & Suarez top 3 :)

Got to say I was so so so so so friggin happy to win tonight. I was in a pub in Essex surrounded by the most stereotypical chavvy west ham supporters ever and it really annoyed me.

Bale, stunning once again. But echoing what cm1179 has said, Lloris saved out skin a couple of times tonight and is truly showing his class as well.

As for the one man team brigade, if we're only one man, use your 11 to take him out of the game then. Shouldn't be too hard if we've only got one player capable of doing anything. Might as well ignore the rest of them.

As for the one man team brigade,

this is the point and what AVB deserves a lot of praise for (and freund no doubt) we've adapted a style of play that gives bale the space in a very dangerous area around the box. it's not our fault if he has the guile to create the space to shoot, even under pressure. to coin a cliché, it really is world class. if it was once in a blue moon, it wouldn't be but there's 3 goals i can think off (from open play) that could be goal of the season conteders. couple that with his runs, crossing and free kicks and he has to be the best player in the league. he also chipped in with his fair share of headed clearences from corners. he does need to track back a little more but he has shown he is far more than a winger.

there have been some incredible goals so far this season, from all teams but i can't think of one that tops this for pure power and skill. the only blip in his season has been the diving or non diving but this goal put that to bed.

Right and?

This is a goal Suarez scored last season away to Sunderland, he could have gone down but didn't I guess that means he hasn't dived since then?

oh here we go. you've got your knickers in a twist again over your blatent jealousy over bale.

maybe the point i was making was the 'bale dives' thing was blown out of proportion by haters?
