Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 29th October 2015]

Would love to know the behind the scenes story at Chelsea, they've not gone from dominant champions to a team in total disarray without some serious behind the scenes shenanigans.

Pretty much this. Then everything else built on top.

The 'incident' with the physio's honestly strikes me as the tip of the ice berg.

Yeah, a woman who really isn't that hot and some daft rumours about her giving massages broke down a club. That they were already playing badly, that Mourinho has a history of doing anything he can to deflect attention and that the team played significantly worse in the last third of last season than the first... all irrelevant.

A 42 yr old (iirc) woman's vagina brought down Chelsea... sure.

True and it's all been downhill since :p

I don't see Chelsea winning the EPL this season, it's really a terrible run they're on. Wil be interesting to see how it develops I.e an improvement or continuation of this downward spiral. Mourinho AND his players really need to turn it around, or both could be in trouble.

I mentioned after the defeat to Southampton that I wasn't sure if Mourinho was desperately trying to save his job or get the sack. It's looking more and more likely to me that it's the latter.

He's had failures in the past but they've always been respectable (results wise, not his behaviour of course) - even when he's not won things he's always been there or there abouts. If he were to fail to get this Chelsea squad into the CL it would be his first truly embarrassing season and his reputation would be tarnished. Get the boot now and he doesn't have that black mark on his CV and he'll get a massive pay off too.
No Gary it couldn't have been given, it wasn't over lol

He was talking about the offside goal not the clearance off the line.

Is Roman stupid enough to pay him the reported 37 million? What top manager will go there? Besides Carlo they are all in a job, your looking at 50 million to replace him at least - suppose they can always go for Brendan, would be amusing.

If both parties want to go their separate ways I'm sure a compromise can and will be reached. As for who next, they've never had a problem attracting managers in the past.
