Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24 - 28th November 2012]

Of all the Liverpool youngsters Robinson was the one I thought was guaranteed to be a first team regular by now but Enrique, Johnson and Bottler have all been played ahead of him at left back this season so perhaps not

Yeah surprised at that as well to be honest, I mean he even had the pace to match Walcott that time vs Arsenal.

Flanno was shocking last season when he played, cost us that win on the opening day of the season and we could've been beat easily due to him.

Yeah, hahaha. Shhhh no tears, you'll be fine playing against Watford, Brighton, Burnley etc in a couple of years.

Yeah and soon it'll be next year is our year...for a penalty.

Why, he uses that technique ronaldo also does, its stupidly unpredictable.

It is unpredictable but that being the case, he should tend to the side of the goal he is meant to be protecting. Oddly, the one place that ball was never going was top right which is where Reina was heading.

I may be wrong but normally the Ronaldo free kicks go straight with a wicked curve at the end one way or t'other. From that distance they rarely curl up and over the wall (further out yes). So why was Reina heading there? I think it was a mistake any way you look at it.

With how well Wisdom (and Kelly prior to his injury) done at RB (and Johnson being both our best rb and lb) I could understand him not getting a chance but for him not to have played ahead of Downing seems odd. The only thing I can think of is he's maybe a bit lightweight at the moment.

bale finally getting mentioned in the same sentence as ronaldo.

thought bale was overrated though.....

He is either massively overrated or underrated, doesn't seem to be a good middle ground with a lot of people (probably due to the massive overhype of passing the ball behind Maicon 3 times and scoring, although he did look quality was it the season before he played like 18 games or something dumb and you didn't win any he started which was weird :p)

Great player, not close to Ronaldo in the slightest though.

Really? Plenty of people have said Bale isn't in the same class as Ronaldo. Is that not in the same sentence

:D

ftr. i didn't mention bale in the same sentence as ronaldo, did i? i merely pointed out the fact someone did in comparison to his fk technique. mayeb ronaldo's fk's are overrated?

wigan unlucky not to have scored.

Ronaldo is much more likable now, even in his last couple of years at United he went over less frequent than Bale

over less frequent? lol don't be bitter. just cos he took your mid and defence to pieces again and you didn't have chopper adam to 'get stuck into him'.

Who cares? Bale the guy who is with his childhood sweetheart, the guy who walks to training and goes home to see his mum when given time off vs ronaldo/Suarez.

He isn't as good as Ronaldo at football but he is just generally awesome. Even when he runs off to some other team at the end of the season, I wish him the best. He is a great role model in a football world full of gumbos.

A&E too. Both grounded wonderful players.

Suarez Lol.

I still don't get why lindegaard doesn't keep the no1 jersey. He is like a young friedel. Nothing spectacular, just reliable as all sin.

Because De Gea is better

He might be, but he has that wild look of panic and fear that Gomes has/had. De Gea also makes more mistakes than Lindegaard.
Edit; predictability is a hugely valuable trait in a goalkeeper. Barthez was mental and brilliant- he was a nightmare
