Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27 - 28th October 2012]

Didn't see the game live earlier but just seen the MOTD highlights. I agree that Evans caught Torres, but Torres went down ridiculously easy. There's absolutely no way that that amount of contact is enough to send a player to the ground, so maybe it'll serve as a lesson to him and in the future he won't go down so easily.

The winner is a shocking decision by the linesman though, Hernandez was emerging from the net so no excuse really.

The best part of Moyes' comment was the way he and Everton defended Andy Johnson. They reportedly threatened legal action against Mourinho for calling Johnson a diver.

I know I mentioned the idea last week (Rodgers obviously reads my posts) but I really liked the look of Sterling alongside Suarez in attack. Sterling's pace will stretch defenses which will only give Suarez more space to play in.

Apparently you want Boro's Steele now, the next Turnbull :D

Can't be worse than Jones :/

I've got no idea what's happened to Doni. The talk during pre-season was that he was allowed to go back to Brazil for family reasons and he's not been seen since. He's still officially at the club though.

WTF is the point of Le Saux? He's giving the benefit of the doubt to the officials for everything and doesn't appear to be able to offer an opinion of his own. It's almost as if he enjoys the fence post up his backside.

Yeah he's pretty good Steele actually, he has been 1st choice for two seasons now and plays for the U21 side, far too soon for Prem though. Turnbull never looked good for Boro though that's why it was strange Chelsea got him, the same can be said for Brad Jones!

Ratboy mentioned it ok Sky and motd pointed it out too - the lino took his time to decide that Suarez was offside. The ****er bottled it.

edit:@andy Hodgson made many a strange decision at Liverpool :(

He isn't, he rarely makes a mistake. Not very commanding though.

Pingwing, the harsh critic of any team that ventures to Southampton :p

Got to maintain harsh standards :p (though we have been depressingly poor making it even worse)

Made it to middlesborough away last season as well as the home game, didn't think much of Steele in goal in either of the games, not really commanding enough and not really good enough as a shot stopper to compensate. I liken him to Camp at Forest, in theory should be able to improve and maybe play in the prem, but isn't worth the effort.
