Arsenal deserved nothing and I'd say Mackie's chance was probably the best in the game, followed by Granero's so they really were maybe stupidly unlucky to not walk away with at least 1 point and maybe could have got all 3, which is shameful on Arsenal. EDIT:- forgot Santi's chance probably the best chance in the game and fluffed it.
Arshavin didn't get a chance to do much but he still put in our best cross of the game into a dangerous area, how he didn't start I don't know. Ramsey is worthless in general but even worse on the wing, no pace, no guile, no ability to beat his man and in general can't cross/shoot at all. Podolski, isolated and not given much to work with. Giroud again looks a bit useless upfront on his own.
Santi, as much as he can look really good, his shooting has been overall very poor and blasting over from that range was almost unforgiveable, his complete lack of ability to hit the target this season isn't good enough for the guy we ask to get the furthest forward.
Sagna, couple defensive mistakes, couple stupid fouls and still can't cross, Santos, crap, defensively.... not impressive considering we were playing a pretty poor QPR upfront and gave away some really good chances to score. Once again QPR doing better after SWP goes off.
Mbia and the linesman, our two best players.... not really good enough is it.
The one positive, Wilshire looked for not having played for so god damned long, exceptional, his movement was good, passing was sharp, shooting... not great but never was. His interplay, attacking drive, everything about his game was really positive, stifled only by Giroud and the passes he was getting back in and around the box mostly being not good enough. I can't imagine Wilshire won't improve with form/fitness, but he started at a stupidly high level today, unbelievable he was that good with that length of time out. Put basically the entire squad to shame, how can Santos be so unfit as a professional when Wilshire played harder than just about every Arsenal player today.
From what I can tell Giroud and Podolski often played in more of a 4-4-2 in their teams last year, and neither is looking particularly good in a 4-5-1, maybe its time to alter some tactics Wenger, rather than shove square pegs in round holes.
EDIT:- Also lol, Brentford score 4 goals, and come away with a draw
