Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th December 2013 - 1st January 2014]

I don't mind Carragher at all, he's had training to slow his speech down, you can tell!

Sky's pundits are a 100 times better than any competitors tbh.

Yup. And we've also gone to Everton, City and Chelsea and shown that we can compete. It's a shame not to have picked more points up in those games, but I was expecting City to thrash us and Chelsea to totally stifle us, so the performances were encouraging.
Agree. 5 points off the top, 1 point off a CL position and 2 points ahead of our main rivals for 4th although Everton continue to worry me.

Few signings in January, get Sturridge back fit and we'll have a good second half of the season with our rivals distracted by Europe.

We're in a decent position but it's annoying what might have been had in not been for either 2 mistakes or 2 horrific decisions in these last 2 games.

I think the defeat at Hull hurt us a few weeks back, we can get away with losing to Man city and Chelsea, but we do need to be beating the lesser teams to keep in the race for 4th, its all still so wide open.

Look on the bright side, all of the top 7 bar United have to come to Anfield in the second half of the season.

To be close to top 4 like we are is progress.

That was one of our best performances this season which doesn't say much for how indifferent we've been, very happy with the 3 points though. I must admit I've seen Liverpool play far better and expected a tougher test from them, especially when we lost Ivanovic who so much of our play goes through.
I thought we should've had a pen in the 1st half when Lucas took out Hazard & it also looked like one on Suarez late on but **** him, he deserves nothing after last year's fixture, he could cry all night & no-one would care.

Whatever, it looked like a pen to me, I haven't seen any replays as yet.
So did Eto'o on Suarez but it's his own fault if Ref's are reluctant to give him dubious ones now, can't really blame the officials if they don't trust him.

You're old, your eye sight's gone.

And you can't call the Suarez/Eto incident dubious. The foul was clear as day and Webb had a clear look at it - maybe his eyes have gone too.

So by that logic Suarez should always be punished in any future match? Give over if that was case allot of other players would never get a pen again. This is a ref who let a karate kick be okay.
