To be fair, CB is the one position we're well catered for, and we have Gerrard coming back who may well have taken Allen's place anyway, so its not the end of the world, but our squad is really thin compared to the other sides at the top of the table.

Disappointed for both players but Sakho will be the bigger loss despite his recent hiccups against City and Chelsea and our lack of midfielders. Allen just isn't good enough and should be sold in the summer so I'd rather Alberto or the youth team players were given a chance.

Eto'o should have been off for the Henderson challenge, or at least a booking. The foul on Suarez later was worthy of a yellow too.
Lucas should have got a yellow for the foul on Hazard, then been sent off for grabbing Oscars throat.
Oscar should have been off for the challenge on Lucas.
I'm viewing that as unbiased as possible.

And Chelsea have a far bigger/stronger squad to cope with those extra games.
Had we played City and Chelsea away either side of a CL round then maybe our extra rest would compensate for having a smaller squad. We couldn't have had these games at a worse point though. There's been no extra rest and because we've had 3 big games (+ Cardiff) in the space of 2 weeks, we've not had the opportunity to rest anybody.
10 of our 11 have been forced into playing each of the last 4 games, I've not checked but I'd be surprised if either Chelsea or City have had to do anything like that in their last 4.
Loads of ways you could look at it. Maybe he's just more fortunate that Moyes got in more versatile defenders in the first place. It's not like Martinez showed any signs of being able to assemble a good defensive unit at any other club he's been at. Having a solid platform to build on has made his job far easier that say the defence moyes has been left at United.
Right now Hibbert could get a run out at United
I've always said, it's far harder to play the way Martinez plays at smaller clubs and therefore a far greater achievement to keep clubs in the PL playing that way rather than playing like Stoke.
That's why I think Martinez has adapted quicker moving up to Everton than Moyes has moving to Utd with his way of playing. Better players play better football better :/
Another good weekend for the Arsenal, go into 2014 top and a point ahead of City, saw most of the first half and thought it was a pretty even game..didnt see any of the second half but so relieved Giroud finally found the back of the net.

The "The Three Amigos” didn’t turn up yesterday but the “Eleven Musketeers” did. What an afternoon, we got a sterling team performance with lots of brilliant individual touches. Another silly goal given away by some poor defending followed by two good goals. Eden Hazard gets better with each game. Willian is finally beginning to make his mark. He was like a terrier chasing down pole all over the pitch. A well deserved win for us and a hint of what will come.
Disagree with that, Hazard should have got the yellow for the dive, clear as day that is a dive from him.
Disagree, thats a red - an understandable reaction given the tackle, but still a red.

Hazard is a winger and Kagawa is a CAM. Hazard gets constant game time, Kagawa doesn't.
