Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th December 2014 - 1st January 2015]

Fabregas needs to switch on. Terrible corner. Take the ball off his team mate then gives it away. Out of position. What's he doing?

Blackburn basically got you relegated a number of years ago when they verbally agreed to cancel a game then claimed they never received any notice, Boro subsequently got 3 points deducted and in theory it sent you down :)

I thought you might think that, but it wasn't the case ^^

Terrified by pace? You would describe Terry, probably the best CB in the league over the past decade as terrified of something most strikers have? Because no other CB has ever been caught out similarly to that, give over.

He's not particularly fast, he's not that slow, he stepped up and got caught out, it happens. It wasn't a good choice but the entire defence wasn't didn't cover themselves in glory with that goal.

He got isolated and panicked. It's not the first time either. Put Terry in a side that sits deep and with dm's and fullbacks tucked in and he's as good as they come. Take that cover away from him and he struggles when he comes up against quick forwards.

It's not really a criticism, he's just suited to playing one system more than another. It's the same for most cb's, just with Terry it's more of an extreme change.

Ah.
If that relegation never happened, Boro could have been a lot different. But then when we were on the up again, we imploded and got relegated under Southgate.

Great finish, well taken, great pass from Mr Assist as well. So many players would be getting the ball and trying to keep possession there with players down, passing backwards. Fabregas was looking forward and just flicked it for Hazard to run on to at a defence that wasn't quite ready. Likewise Hazard could have shot earlier from range and he had the chance after cutting inside to shoot early but made the right touch, got a load of space going past one more defender and slotted it in the corner.

That's exactly the sort of thing that sees Chelsea top of the league, only one shot on goal in the entire half but it's been made to count.

lol Arsenal, Song seemingly scores but it's not given for a couple guys interfering with play. While a lot of those are given I would actually say that one was correctly not given because a keeper could would dive if no player was there but might wait for a player to try and put it in the other corner.

There was one earlier this season against us, the Stoke one IIRC, which was ridiculous because the ball didn't go near the Stoke player, but that went through a West Ham players legs and that would certainly change how the keeper would react to it.

Still poor from Arsenal in that the defence was no where near either Song taking the shot or defending that area of the box the shot went through. West Ham starting by far the stronger team, so we'll probably score.
