Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th December 2012 - 2nd January 2013]

He's got Arsenal over a barrel, he's producing performances and they have to hang onto him now or the fans will be irate.

There are plenty of teams that could use him and will happily pay him what he wants, or even a bit less if they're a better team than Arsenal - there are quite a few.

He hasnt;) thats why we havent given into his demands yet. I personally dont think hes worth £100k, we could give it to him but theres every chance he could just become an utter retard like he has in the past when he hasnt played well.

As an Arsenal fan i dont really want to see him go but id be more angry if we offered him £100k a week and he becomes another Adebayor;).

If another team wants him and wants to ***** £100k a week on him then they can gladly take him and then deal with him when he plays like utter turd.

Like jonney said above, he can stay with Arsenal...become a better player then when his next contract is up for renewal then and only then if he really has excelled himself and is banging in 30+ goals a season..give him £100-£150k a week.

That goal of his was pretty damn good, respect to him for not trying to appeal for a penalty but rather get up and just bag his hattrick. Mind you a fair bit of luck was on his side as he did slide through when he was brought down:p

Good goal, he was well assisted by our defence acting like the Beverley Hillbillies though.

Love watching the first half of our great performance against Stoke, the Guly cross for the first was as good as I thought when he hit it (was chatting to a mate about Guly on the left being the answer whilst Lallana is out which made me laugh).

As soon as that goal is bundled in under (our terrible) keeper we sit back and let it all go wrong.

N'Zonzi sending off was hilarious though! Thought it wasn't for much at the time and now its just for him being a nasty person.

Shame their 3rd was a screamer, we should have pressed them so much more at 3-2.

Also Stoke screaming for so many handballs despite motd missing about 5 we screamed for that Jones and Crouch kept patting down.

What was he sent off for?

From what I can guess it was intent to stamp on Cork who had been dispossessing him really well all game and the ref must have though he was just too wound up to stay on.

 "Huth looked like he had been in a car accident, such as how good Lambert was" quote of the season!

At the risk of being DM, Walcott scored a good hat trick but still had plenty of brain fart moments. If he can keep up the consistent scoring then that makes up for his all round contribution not always being what it could be.

Got a link to those quotes?

It's the Mirror but I don't think they'd have made direct quotes up, I believe he was speaking at a conference of some description:

Nani has 18 months left on his contract and threatens to allow the agreement to expire before walking away for free.

But Ferguson has offered a way back for the 26-year-old by saying: “Nani’s contract isn’t up until the end of next season – and we need him.

“He offers something different from the other players we have. He’s got an incredible talent, but, *unfortunately, he’s been injured.

“We have sent Nani over to Dubai for a break in the hope that it will help him with his recovery.

“I don’t think we will have him back until the middle of January. He’s never had a hamstring injury before and this is a bad one.

“But Nani has got a future here. Why would I want to let him go?”

I want to see Nani back, need to build his confidence up and then unleash him on the PL for the second half of the season, he's utterly devastating when he's playing well.

Owww, on the one hand I am glad west ham are no longer riding on some sort of odd reputation of being amazing, but they could have picked a better opposition to fail miserably against...

Bale's diving is hilarious.

Also; The referee in the Huddersfield v Sheffield Wednesday game got two of our players mixed up! So instead of getting a player sent off for two bookings we just had two guys booked :D

It was a dive, he wasn't knocked over. His leg just stopped moving mid stride and his other one collapsed. Contact does not equal a foul just because it's contact. It has to be meaningful contact or there would be fouls every time someone brushes past someone else. If he had carried on he would have been through on goal anyway, he's a diver, end of.
Oh be quiet gooner.... it was a blatant penalty and saying anything else just makes you look like a biased noob, fact ;)
