Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th March - 1st April 2013]

Yorke's the worst dressed man I've ever seen (apart from Gustov? ;):p).

The level of punditry is so painfully poor in England, I can't believe there isn't an eloquent, almost-intelligent retired footballer out there who's bored on a weekend?

So frustrating. Being in our position you can't stroll around showing no urgency even after going behind. It was a game filled with so many missed chances by both teams but the highlight (and most annoying :p) of the game was Gerrard's clearance off the line, it was unreal! Not sure what Baker was thinking either, its a shame because he's been our best center back in all honesty.

David Miliband's quit from his role at Sunderland following the Di Canio appointment due to Di Canio's past fascist comments/views.

I mentioned it after the game, it was a terrible challenge and the ref was looking straight at it too.

edit: And has there been another player for us (in the past 10 years or so) that's played as many successful throughballs per game as Coutinho has since joining us? He seems to be playing 2 or 3 killer passes every game. If/when he gets fully fit and settles in, he's going to be a superstar.

I wonder if the gimp's sat at home screaming for them to show an incident involving Suarez that he found by going through the whole game with a fine-tooth comb.

Edit: No Colin, Downing is still not good enough

Rafa Benitez said to have been dismissed by Chelsea. Interim manager being fired, a first, even for Chelsea surely!

Ermmm... or is he doing a very early April fools? :D

Hahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Di Canio at Sunderland?

Really?

Is the whole sacking thing and appointing him not some really elaborate and impressive April fools?

If not... AHAHHAHAhhahhahhahaahahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 (now watch them beat us :p:p:p:D)

ps. hahahhahahhahhhahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa

So what are we thinking about the run in for Champions League places? I hashed this together for convenience.

Chelsea arguably have the harder run in owing to the fixture congestion. And I think it's right to put Everton up there because although they've got several tough games as well, we all know they can pull it out the bag.

But I think its going to be Arsenal and Spurs that bag third and fourth. Just can't see Chelsea being able to push all the way through April with ease.

Arsenal have got the more forgiving run in and so as much as it pains me to say, will likely finish third.
