Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th March - 1st April 2013]

I fancy our chances of finishing ahead of Everton but we're too far away to challenge for Europe now.

Arsenal have got by far the easiest run in, as you said, and without the European distraction I expect them to finish just above Spurs in the top 4. Chelsea have just got too many distractions off the pitch and too many hard games on it imo.

If Arsenal don't make it then they have only themselves to blame.

Spurs always falter at this time of the year, expect Arsenal and Chelsea to get 3rd and 4th.

Agree, I think we should stop them winning the finishaboveliverpool cup this year especially with them to play at home at Anfield after the amount we got shafted at goodison.

This will be good. :D

I cant wait to see this nutty Italian try and keep Sunderland up in the EPL, his interviews will be interesting to say the least:p

Personally speaking i dont think Arsenal will overhaul Spurs, ive said it a few times now that the Spurs look a much better team than they were under Redknapp.
We may have the easiest run in but honestly speaking, i can see us dropping plenty of points...we might get 4th due to Chelsea and their packed schedule but if we get into CL nest season...it will be nothing short of a miracle tbh. But i can definitely see us dropping points, sure the past couple of games we have managed to claw ourselves back into the race for the top 4 but with Arsenal and the way they are so inconsistent at times, its only a matter of time before we drop points to teams that we 'really' shouldnt be dropping points to.

Where are all the Newcastle fans now asking for a lengthy ban?

How is that in any way relevant

Should Newcastle fans now police all football fans because there was a bad tackle in our game?

There are things I want to call you but you aren't worth a ban :p

If you don't want to be a hypocrite then yes you should be picking up on other bad challenges other than the ones that happen to your players.

I don't know why you want to **** me off to the point of being banned for pointing that out though...

I didn't even see the challenge, by your post we should be all screaming ban without having even seen the challenge, or perhaps watch every minute of every game just in case of a bad challenge?:rolleyes::confused:

Such retarded logic, you've made my brain hurt.

But this sums it up nicely, so we'll leave it there.

It was studs and a knee, therefore Liverpool fans will ignore all logic, the actual tackle itself, and proclaim it identical in danger, force and therefore should have the same punishment(assuming a competant referee got said decision correct, which he clearly didn't), and decide to have a go at opposition fans for ignoring the harsh treatment their players receive from refs.

Some fans might realise the Wigan player went over the ball, left the ground, went into a standing leg from the front(leaving any force pushing the leg/knee in a way it isn't designed to bend, side on or from behind generally lets the leg bend/move and deflect/lessen the impact), which is the single most dangerous way you can make contact in the game. The liverpool one, the AV player had one foot on the floor, made contact but it was side on, he didn't jump in the air nor launch in with full force, it wasn't overly aggressive, nor reckless, nor with huge force.

But it was a knee and a foot, therefore they were equal challenges.

It wasn't a great challenge, at all, and without quesiton was a yellow and not far from a red. I think it was one that could have gotten a red, but because it failed to live up to the usual red criteria, would have been very unlucky to get one. Most tackles that get a red are players, leaving the ground, or a stamping style tackle with the players full weight behind it, or a "head on" tackle like the Mcmanaman one, which drastically increases the dangerous nature of a tackle.

I don't know what's more amusing, the fact you seemingly had a rant based on something no Liverpool supporter has done or the fact you mentioned 'ignore all logic' in reference to someone other than yourself :o

I literally don't know any Evertonians that even care about finishing above Liverpool anymore, no more than finishing above Stoke, Fulham or any other run of the mill mid table to 5th to 6th place team.

It seems to be only Liverpool fans that think you are still a benchmark we have sights set on? I'd rather we didn't set our level at a bunch of long ball merchants who spend millions and are still mediocre with a 1 man team :p

That we are within a few points of each other with our finances and squad says more about your team than ours.

Last season League 2 now the Prem? Biggest step up in PL history for a manager?

Wenger from grampus eight must be similar standard ;)
