Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th Sept - 3rd Oct 2012]

true. same as if scholes had played the same ball sandro did to defoe that created the 3rd goal, there'd have been cries of 'wow! what a pass from scholes'.

Nah if Scholes had played it it would have just been for the forth or fifth of that afternoon ;)

What odds on Hughes sacked by the weekend? :p

(seriously anyone know?)

My money would be on Redknapp to replace Hughes. Its getting to the stage for QPR where he would be able to use the tried and trusted line of "when I arrived we only had two points from 8 games" over and over again.

That was shocking! QPR might have got rid of a lot of the **** but they've still got the likes of Clint Hint and Faurlin in the team. :D

QPR like? Lol, Hughes has bought a bunch of wash outs, been saying it since the start of the season. Is Hughes cack then?

Really looking forward to seeing Redknapp in management again except not in charge of spurs this time. His media wooing will be hilarious rather than painful for me this time.

I have no doubt that he would keep QPR up but his interviews during the season would be a goldmine of self congratulatory name dropping nonsense.

Faurlin is pretty decent to be fair. Hill on the other hand..

Hill was actually very good last night, but then that often happens, someone too slow not good enough for CB can often make for a more defensive than usual fullback. He also did some good passing forwards and worked hard down the left wing. Hill was shocking in the first couple games, he was actually one of the better players on the pitch for either team in that game. On the other hand, Onoura was shocking, defensively and offensively. He got in position to cross several times and just can't, he's a horrendous player, always was. LIkewise Faurlin is pretty good though not his best games last night.

First/second half was fairly similar to the Utd/Spurs game but the opposite halfs. First half was entirely West Ham, complete domination, second half was(after the subs) mostly QPR, even down to 10 men they had the better of it.

Just goes to show, experience and age, being from a bit team mean not much. Park was horrendous, as was SWP. Loads of pace, provided absolutely nothing, lightweight idiot who can't shoot and can't cross.

I'll make a point to say I didn't think Lennon would ever be good, I still don't think he's great but he was in SWP/Walcott league but in the past 3 years has moved into being a significantly effective player, SWP/Walcott are worthless.

QPR playing towards an offense were a team that weren't at all bad, nor brilliant. First half, with Park/SWP was just wrong. When you have no attacking outlet, what happened to Utd happened to QPR. It lets the other team have all the ball, push forward and get goals. When your offense is working at least you can take the game to the other side.

The one thing they still have a real issue with is players and random red cards, even Taarabt, get a red card before for two stupid yellows, one from celebrating like an idiot... then he goes and does it again.

Anyone else get the feeling that QPR have assembled a squad of gun-for-hire's? There's no team spirit, little team work from most of them and they all seem to be playing for themselves (as QPR seemingly have thrown a wad of cash at them each).

Contrast, on paper, their team versus that of West Ham's and in my opinion there isn't much to separate them in terms of quality. However, West Ham have a much stronger team ethic than QPR and looks as if they want to perform to win, not to grab their win bonuses. It's embarrassing.

In my opinion, the quickest way for a team to get relegated from the Premier League is overpaying (largely) over the hill players. I can't wait for QPR to go down :D

It's a shame to see Reading and Southampton down there too. Reading have a wonderful ethic and a great model for a football club, but just don't seem to have the quality. Southampton have been a lot more free with the cash, but I reckon it will likely click into place and they'll finish just outside the relegation zone.

West Ham doing alright aren't they ;)

They've had it easy so far :p Fulham, Norwich, Sunderland, QPR, Swansea and Villa so far in the league.

We've only played Villa of that bunch (and beaten them as well) plus they have lost to Wigan in the cup. The big test for us is beating Fulham on Sunday but West Ham have to deal with the big 4 twice this season and the inform Everton. They have Arsenal next at home which will demonstrate where they really are at followed by a massive 6 pointer against us.

I stand by no matter what fat sam does they will be bottom half and flirting with relegation this season, facing a similar problem of Stoke that hoof can only take you so far in the prem.

Also agree with toshj above that QPR are set for relegation despite having so many massive wages and "stars" in the team. Fire sale QPR next season will be fun to watch...
