Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 5th March 2012]

Here i was thinking Chelsea would pummel WBA but they are a goal down lol...hopefully it will stay that way:p

That's pretty dirty, Long running away from the ball so he'd get tripped up by Ashley Cole and win a free kick.

That said, Andre Villas-Byebye.

Today's results have gone very favourably for us. Just need Spurs to capitulate to United as they often do, and Sunderland to win the derby. Just need Wilshere back and maybe we can somehow sneak a top 4 spot.

City win 2-0...over to you Utd;)...as much as im loathed to say it, i hope Utd win tommorrow only because it gives Arsenal a chance of catching them up.

He's allowed to move to shield the ball, tbh. He was obviously looking for a foul, but he didn't go down under the slightest of contact, or anything (he could have dropped and rolled!).

No no, I just didn't like the fact that he didn't try to play the ball or anything, but rather run specifically to get in the way of what may have been a very valid tackle.

I agree with a fair bit of that, but I think it's unfair to criticise him for transfer dealings... it's fairly obvious that most transfers are decided on without AVB having much of a say!

Part of his job is to convinced his manager of who he needs, if he can't do that, its still his failure.

Roman has EVERY right to buy whoever the hell he wants, but if I was a manager there I would both be absolutely killing myself to persuade Roman buy who i thought we needed, if I failed, I would see that as my failure.

Doing his best to get rid of a pretty decent defender and a not speculatular but still decent Anelka while keeping Malouda, madness.

The other thing being, its rather easy for managers to simply pass the blame off to Roman, doesn't necessarily make it true ;)

Most managers would have welcomed Torres being bought, because he flopped it is just convenient to suggest he wasn't your buy ;)

Ballack was one of the better buys at Chelsea that poor old Mourinho supposedly complained about, Mourinho made far far more poor buys than Roman did at that time.
