Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th April - 2nd May 2016]

Scott Parker was was pure entertainment last night with some of his comments.

Before the game when asked if he thought Spurs still had a chance of the title 'I think so yeah, especially if Spurs win tonight'

After the game when reviewing Leicester's season 'They got off to a great start and then it snowboarded from there'

Interested to see what the FA do with Spurs:
-Rose: Should have had two bookings, but likely to get away with it. Interesting to see what happens with the Hiddink incident.
-Dier: Incredilbly lucky not to get a second yellow late on but because someone else got hacked down 5s later and it kicked off I think the ref got distracted. Again, expect no action
-Dembele: Most likely to get punished for that gouge I think
-Lamela: 'Stamp' on Fabregas was quite a cute one I thought, one of them that could have been avoided but no obvious malicious intent in his body language so probably no action
-Poccettino: Entered field of play but only to stop Rose and Willian squaring up. I thought he did the right thing and shouldn't be punished.

Chelsea fans moaning about the Spurs players doing what Chelsea do most weeks.

Congrats Leicester, thoroughly deserved, let us hope it isn't a one season thing.

Loads of Spurs fans on fan pages etc claiming Chelsea were dirty in that game. Must have missed 9 of their yellows then..

If Leicester didn't win the title, Spurs was my second choice. After that disgraceful display tonight, I'm so glad they didn't.

Ditto

chelsea did what they do best at times and totally got inside their heads. The comments before the match from hazard etc will have done that and I imagine more will have been said on the pitch

No excuse for some of the fouls going on. Mind games are a big part of football now and I guess the spurs lads are still learning... Credit to harry kane who looked to spend half the game trying to break up fights :p

Can't imagine how Leicester fans must be feeling because it's still incredible for me !

Kante... Would you really leave for aresnal who didn't think you where good enough ? Or would you stay at the best team in the league ? Atleast for another year ! Leicester could match the wages and still cash in next summer if it does fall part. And that's a big IF

That video of the Spurs challenges is missing the Kane reducer, I think it was on Fabregas?

Amazed how Dier got away with that second one.

It's unbelievable, just an amazing feeling, beats all other cup wins and promotions/ play offs. Now I know what it feel like to be a Arsenal, Blackburn Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd fan :D

I can see all the players, especially Kante and Mahrez staying for one more season at least. We have the ICC Cup coming up, Champs League, and the defence of the title. :)

Missed the game and just watched some videos, Spurs need to hang their heads in shame and hopefully should be starting next season with 3-4 players still banned. For me, that performance their sours their season and I've went from being happy if they would have knicked the title (as both teams were playing well) to being extremely happy Spurs lost it.

To be fair Leicester were showing cracks with discipline too, with Vardy abusing the referee and Drinkwater getting a red, but nowhere near as bad as Spurs. 9 yellows in a single game is quite astonishing. How they managed to avoid sending offs is bizarre.

**** me!

No, I quoted and replied to somebody discussing the potential of their owner ploughing cash into the club as others had been going on about how rich he is. I very simplistically referred to FFP by mentioning break even - again, as we've discussed this many times before, you're well aware that I know FFP allows some leeway but if you want to focus soley on the term break even then go ahead. However if we're going to be pedantic - no Leicester's owner can't inject £30m per year. Leicester are now subject to UEFA's FFP regulations where the maximum loss is €30m over 3 years so you're wrong, again.

Whenever FFP is brought up you always bring up these fairytale scenarios about how clubs can get around it no matter how unrealistic they are and despite UEFA sanctioning both PSG and Man City for doing so. Again, Leicester aren't owned by a Gulf state with a bottomless pit of money and access to state owend companies to sponsor the club and as above, City and PSG have shown that you can only fiddle that so far but you know that, you're just being pedantic because I mentioned break even regarding FFP.

And for you to still say FFP is good for the likes of City and PSG has got to be the most ridiculous thing you've said on these forums. Please logically explain to me how FFP, where there are restrictions to how much they can spend and they're having to fiddle their accounts just so they can be competitive is better than no FFP, where they can **** money up the wall and blow every single club in the world out of the water?

The summer before last we saw how both City and PSG were clearly effected by FFP and the sanctions UEFA put on them. PSG wanted to but couldn't sign Di Maria for example and as a result who signed him? Utd. FFP was good for PSG? **** me, that's plain stupid.

Just seen that tunnel video. Looked like Gus got pushed over my someone to me.

Can't believe that no reds were given last night, was a pretty decent game to watch for the neutral.

Gratz to the foxes, wonder what the odds are that they will get relegated next season?

9 Spurs players booked, is that right?

Just had a look and it is... is that some kind of a record?

edit: Dembele is going to be in a lot of trouble for eye gouging too.

Bit of a shame that Leicester didn't win it on the pitch. Congratulations anyway.

18 months ago, Ranirei was leading Greece to glorious defeat against the Faroe Islands! What a turnaround in fortunes for everyone involved.

A managers only really as good their team tbf, that's why Mourinho, Guardiola etc always cherry pick the right teams. It's like Ronaldo/Messi they go where success is almost guaranteed.
