In a back handed compliment kind of way, DM is right it was an average performance. Average performances, week in week out win you Premierships, that's all that matters![]()
Just been mega busy with work.
For your return, have some pie

How supporters of the other 19 teams in the league wish their team was as average as us![]()
What I say is tame imho compared to what some people on here say
I was speaking with a Liverpool fan at football last week and he couldn't believe that a potential record breaking Man Utd team are being classed as "average", it's ridiculous. We've put more workmanlike performances in than normal and made hard work of some games, but given the ridiculous injuries we've had what we've done is hardly "average".
Thank you. Nice to see you're still on here buddy.Welcome back Nokkon btw!
Missed you matey, hope all is well with you?never heard of him![]()
Stoke
In homage to Stoke's boring, lifeless football, here's a set of stats thrown at you:
* Stoke's goal difference is minus 14 - double the negative total of the teams either side of them in the league.
* They have scored a joint-worst (with Wigan) 29 goals this season.
* They are bottom of the league in terms of possession.
* They are bottom in terms of pass completion.
* They have the lowest number of shots per game.
Why would anyone want to watch this rubbish?
As for Rooney, for someone playing left wing he spent an awful lot of time in the middle with Evra filling in his usual left back role, so around 30metre's further forward at all times than he should beRooney's passing was incredibly uninspiring, failing repeatedly to find the throughballs he wanted, I can't really name a single time he got down the wing, though he found himself on the left side of the box once or twice and put in a crap low cross easily gathered by the keeper when there were 2, maybe 3 players far post.
Rooney's passing was uninspired? You missed his 40 yard diagonal which lead to our first chance of the game? As for his positioning, you're not the manager so why question him doing anything other than the job he was set out there to do? When attacks broke down he was always busting a gut to get behind the ball and support Evra and I'm sure that's the only thing he was tasked with by playing out there not to be running down the flank putting crosses in.
Where did I say he had to stay left wing, Utd fans(fans in general) have a habit of defending a point I never made while ignoring the points they made. I was RESPONDING to someone saying Rooney not being as influencial was hardly surprising as he played on the wing, yet the vast majority of the game he actually wasn't, he was in the middle in his usual position.
Likewise, one pass an inspired performance does not make, EVER, notice I used the plural passING not pass, I didn't claim he didn't make a single good pass. He did however try balls through the middle, in behind and fluffed basically all of them... as per usual.
