Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Mar - 2nd April 2012]

i just dont understand why he thinks you can only support someone/thing if you go and see them every week.

Well how did you even understand football at 6, let me guess your dad put you infront of the tv or you went to a shop and choose Man Utd by chance

If he gets a job one day, maybe he'll understand.

It's his little way of trying to wind up fans of proper teams, he's compensating. It makes him feel better. Bizarre, I know.

Proper teams? so if you are not top 6 in EPL you are not real teams.

If people from towns did not support their local team, football would not exist.

The issue wasn't the crosses, at least 75% of the crosses were actually VERY good, but no one looked interested in getting into the box to attack them. There's nothing else he could do, in the end the inability of other players in attack for us led him to take matters into his own hands as only he at United could.

That's why he's the most dangerous assist player in the league.

I agree with you, there was nothing wrong with the crosses. But in the end when you most of the time only have Hernandez in the box it's going to take a great cross and a great run and poor defending to get a chance, he had one early on but was denied. Schoes and Carrick are never going to get into the box regularly from open play.

Of course it is, every time you put the ball in the box there's a chance of something happening. If defending crossed balls is a piece of **** why even try to stop the supply line? That was the problem last Monday night we weren't getting the ball in the box tonight that's wasn't a problem and we always looked like scoring a goal

We always looked like scoring? I think you must have been watching a different game, the Blackburn defence could have cleared those crosses for 900 mins let alone 90. We didn't have enough people getting into the box and it's always going to be difficult for Hernandez to win against two big centre backs.

I was actually a fan of ryan Giggs and so followed his team. If it had anything to do with my dad I would have been a city fan.

I'm done with having to justify myself to someone on the Internet.

Wouldn't necessarily say it was fantastic, we struggled to break them down and continued to be predictable in our approach to attacks. The lack of efforts from us was worrying, Robinson had almost nothing to do (and couldn't do anything about the two that went in), and the fact remains that once again De Gea is the reason we're taking points out of a game by making excellent saves.

I agree first half about the lack of shots on goal but Robinson made as many saves as De Gea did first half during that second half

I agree about De Gea though his importance to our title charge has been as crucial as anyone.

I agree, which is why I thought Jones was playing, I figured he'd play deep and save Scholes or Carrick the running allowing them to dictate play more higher up the pitch or at least have a go. Carrick managed one effort and Scholes had the option to go with about 4 but never did.
Instead for some reason he played Jones higher up the pitch, it seems like Ferguson has forgotten the lad is a CB and that, since his first injury, he's barely looked like a professional footballer, let alone a world beater.

Yeah you're right we did watch a different game because had you seen the same one as me you wouldn't call tonight's performance unconvincing :o

So he should! Robinson plays for Blackburn!
Saying he made as many saves second half when Man Utd are going for it as the Man Utd keeper did first half against a team 17th in the table is not a positive! If anything it's a damning indictment on the quality of our play!

Yeah you're right we did watch a different game because had you seen the same one as me you wouldn't call tonight's performance unconvincing :o

Says the person who just called that our best performance of the season.

We were struggling to create anything against a team battling for relegation until we scored a fluke/wonder goal (the fact Valencia said it was 50:50 suggests it was a fluke but I thought it looked intentional)

so not only did you watch a different game to me you're reading posts that aren't there as well. I'd give up now if I were you.

Yep absolutely agree with what Gary Neville just said that was our best performance in months (maybe one of the best all season). Fantastic signs this close to the end of the season

The fact that you're even considering it is either a damning indictment of how infrequently we've been convincing or your seeing a few good goals and it's glossing over the rest of the performance for you.

I leave for 3 years and still people don't cotton on to the fact that Cheets comedically trolls everyone on here. Love ya Andy!

New rule Nokkon, you're not allowed to say trolling on here. Even when the person in question is doing it and the mods don't do anything. In fact even using the word gets infractions and stuff.

Yeah, don't ask.

A couple of weeks ago you were crying into your cereal about how we went to Spurs and they had 60% possession in one half of football against us, possession that never really took them anywhere near threatening. We dominated tonights game from start to finish, always looked a threat and deserved to win so yes that to me is a good performance, factor in it was away from home and on a ground we don't have a great record at makes it even better. Like usual though you fail to understand the big picture

Amazing how me, most people on here and the BBC seem to be in agreement then?

:o

That argument is about as weak as me pulling out the fact that it was Gary Neville that said it was our best performance in months not to mention the fapping over the performance on the Redcafe
