To a degree, yes, however that's why I said just below the top level. We'll struggle to compete with the big, wealthy CL teams for the best of the best. That's not really what's needed though, it hasn't worked.

I don't think "world class players" are what is needed at United. They need players that will give 100% every week first of all.
Its really quite shocking how poor we are . Ruthless rebuild required starting next week. I'd play all the youngsters vs Cardiff and see how they get on + send a message to the rest.

I know its not world class players that are needed. It is just the Utd way in the last few years to go and throw money at anyone who resembles a good player.
I actually agree with you on this it's a massive massive job and wonder If ole is the right choice
To be fair, LvG and Mourinho both struggled. Ole is a massive gamble but at this stage we have to give it a shot.
It'll take time. There's no easy fix, it would have been much easier but Woodward has made a total mess of things over the years.
There wasn't towards the end, things had gone horribly wrong. I think Ole is trying to figure out which players he wants to keep, and he's been trying different systems. I know what you mean though.
And yes, despite all the struggles over the years, we've still had more success trophy wise than most teams, which is pretty amusing.
Towards the end sure...this is the start with Ole and it's a mess. He should have an idea what system he wants to play, it's not like he's doing anything drastically different to Mourinho just a little more attacking.
I think United fans and the media think some of the English lads are better than they are. Rashford for eg shouldn't even be a consideration for a team as big as United.

He did bring a clear system which worked (counter attack), and then the players stopped trying once he got the job because they are a bunch of wasters. Not sure what you can do about that.
Rashford has faded lately but he's one of the best young strikers around without a doubt. He has to improve more though. Lukaku hasn't done any better.
