Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 11th April 2012]

I would really find it immensely amusing if spurs fired twitchy and sky did the same for his whelp. I am fed up of their sanctimonious football family nonsense.

Spurs should go for Moyes, Rodgers, Lambert, Conte. There are quite a few candidates. Harry does not have a clue what do do ATM. All he sees is a drop in form and lacks the observational powers to deconstruxt why that drop has occurred. So he changes something and hopes for the best. His own quote rings particularly true: he doesn't look half so clever with bale playing rubbish.

England can do what they like Harry would be great as an impact manager for a season and we would see an improvement in output but there is no chance that we would achieve anything above expected. There would be some stirring performances against poor opposition and then a loss to one of the great national teams, Tunisia for example, who would out tactic Harry.

I am more concerned for Spurs at the moment. Any candidate bar Mourinho carries an element of the unknown but with the squad we have we should be much closer to the top three in this particular season.

A tad strongly worded but he's right.

If that was Rooney I can only imagine the amount of epeen waving there would be going on in this thread :D it's not goal of the century but not many players can or will score a goal like that.

More importantly... 5 games left and Newcastle are fifth!!!!!!! HAWAY THE LADS!!!! :D

I'm ever more convinced that the Spurs player know that Harry is off at the end of the season. It's just too coincidental that they've lost their appetite since the day Fabio resigned and Harry's court case finished. Players such as Modric, Bale, VDV maybe know that that they'll be leaving with nothing to play for. I may seem slightly disgruntled but the whole affair stinks.

Spurs. Why do I deserve this?

I havnt rubbed it in any faces, just been positive about my teams chances, as anyone would. Yet suddenly Arsenal fans and Chelsea fans seem to be poxy everywhere, Not just that, but the comments towards me, when Ive been nothing like that really irk me. Newcastle are doing the honourable thing and keeping it low key. Just once I would like Spurs to live up to the hype, yet again I fear we will only get 5th, lose the better players and slide back to 5/6th. *sigh*

Still atleast were not getting relegated, but that doesnt really put it into perspective.

At the end of the day he had the balance to ride tackles pace to leave defenders the finish it self was top draw even if you don't count the fact he just ran 65 yards?

Outstanding goal, to process the movements around you at that speed, keep full control of the ball and draw defenders in then beat them all, is ridiculously hard

Am I the only person who doesn't think it was an outstanding goal? The thing is when you watch it again, the defenders weren't drawn in and he didn't have to ride many tackles...

He got the ball facing his own goal, he produced a good turn to get past the first player, the next player was too slow to catch up which allowed him to run straight through the Bolton midfield. The Bolton defence realised he was charging towards them but continued to sit back, when one eventually decided to go tackle, he was obstructed by a Newcastle player which meant he was late getting into a position to tackle and got nutmegged far too easily. The finish was just a poke into the bottom corner.. Nothing world class about that?

After watching the Norwich game on MoTD, you have to ask how can one ref get so many decisions wrong? Holt should have got a penalty and King should have been sent off, Kaboul should have been sent off for his kick on Holt(Most players would have gone down like they had been shot so credit to Holt for staying on his feet) and we should have had another penalty for Adebayor's challenge on Wilbraham(Who I still think is absolutely *****). Good to get 3 points but would have preferred it by a larger margin to improve our GD..

If only Arfa had actually made the final shot with his shin, it would be goal of the season no doubt ;)

I am really looking forward to tonights game now. Nice that there has been a lot of football on the last week, it has really saved my life!

I am tempted to go for a Blackburn win, but surely Liverpool must stop the rot eventually(but they do have a semi-final coming pu). I am not sure you would really get the value on Blackburn anyway considering Liverpool's recent form.

I do always think that of all the teams at the bottom, Blackburn do have a result in them.

PS- dm, you put far too much stock in assists!;)

Is that in the last 9 games or throughout the season? I'm guessing throughout the season so it's pretty much BS :p
