Because he didn't go down. I've said this 1000 times but refs contribute to diving as much as players do because they're scared to give decisions for what they are.

Think it was more a case of play on? He was still on his feet and stumbled afterwards as there was no contact... Remy still could have scored to be honest

Like any decision outside the area, the ref sees if the advantage materialises then brings it back. That attempt on goal was never an advantage over a penalty kick - he was off balance striking a bouncing ball.

Yup, that's the issue. Regardless of whether he goes down or not the goalkeeper has fouled Remy and it has to be a pen. Goalkeeper could've walked as well.
