Been hearing this for decades..“Climate change isn’t happening fast enough for me to observe.” *angry face*
Been hearing this for decades, still waiting...
I’m sorry but your perception/feels is not a substitute for what is scientifically observable.Been hearing this for decades..
lols .. you always will have a rise and fall in sea level it will rise in one place and fall in another .. the sea is self regulated has been for thousands of yrs it would take a vast amount of ice loss to push it above 1mtr ..just depends how active and how long the volcanos run for ..but with them just on the west side can't see it being a problem .Latest research out recently says the western Antarctic ice shelf has passed the critical point and at this stage no matter what we do the western shelf will 100% melt off within a few decades causing global sea levels to rise 1 meter
That means we've now locked in a 1 meter rise in sea level and there is no nothing we can do to change it, we can try stopping it from rising further but the 1 meter is locked in
climate change is just not happening ..it's weather cycles over a long term .. if it was al gore would not of bought beach front property ..“Climate change isn’t happening fast enough for me to observe.” *angry face*
Imagine after all these years of being fed nonsense and still believing it!
Bingo! It's always happened, it always will and we'd better just adapt. The cynical weaponise it to make money and the disaster is always an undetermined number of years in the future. When we reach that date there's a new set of believers to sell the next day of doom to. I'm still waiting for the new ice age we were sold in the 70's to arrive“Climate change isn’t happening fast enough for me to observe.” *angry face*

I take it you're young? Winters were a lot colder in the 1970's despite us being in a warming period still coming out of the last ice age. There were similar predictions of doom then, except it was that we might be entering a new ice age. We don't know when the next one is but there is very likely to be one given the past cold and warm cycles. Mountain ranges are still rising after being compressed by the ice sheets. Greenland (Vineland) isn't called that because it's always been icy Vineyards were in the north of England not long ago. We've had warm periods and very cold periods all independent of manmade emissions. I'm all for less pollution but the hysteria over the constantly changing climate is not helpful. As Diddums says, try to be less of a consumer, make your stuff last longer etc and everything will be fine. We're actually experiencing global greening and despite the huge increase in population we have 99% fewer people dying from climate related issues. Something like 10x as many people die from cold than heat, global cooling would be a massive problem as the majority of plant life died off.LOL wut?? More context please
I can't say I've seen one "climate denier", you know the reason that phrase was used initially? To link it in with "holocaust denier", a linguistic tool to close down the debate. I only see disagreements on why and what do do or not do, the climate has always changed and we adapted. We seem to be in an era of doom and gloom mongers, bring back some optimism is what I say If you really want to reduce your CO2 emissions exponentially don't have any children, I'm doing my bit Oh and stop building on flood plains and go back to clearing fire breaks Climate change is now a catch all for "we're useless/negligent at our jobs so we'll blame the climate". If you want to find negatives it can be found but there are plenty of positives too.Dear lord this thread is ******* depressing. Are people seriously denying climate change because we aren't 6 feet under and the earth isn't burning. We are very much seeing the early effects of climate change. We haven't been told we are going to die for decades and we aren't being told we will be dead in decades from now. Life will get worse. Food will become harder to grow. There will be more extreme weather. Sea levels will rise. Species will die off in huge numbers. Parts of the earth that are currently habitable will become uninhabitable.
Barring a catastrophic disaster humans will survive. Personally I would rather my children live in the best world possible rather than just existing.
