If she was maybe 15-20 years older people might take her more seriously. Right now it's like listening to a whiny kid and it's super cringy.

Also these "protests" have so far only achieved ******* off the public and causing even more pollution by bringing traffic to a standstill. Anyone in power who needs to go somewhere will just take a chopper and fly over them.

There are plenty of folk 15-20 years older than her who share her sentiments, but not a lot of folk are taking them that seriously are they?

Anyway, there are a lot of young folk who are taking her seriously... which might not be the case if she was older.

I'm not so sure. If her parents were trying to get into the events she's being given access to then I think they would struggle massively. That's the whole point of having her do it?

Someone with life experience has more sway. Sending a kid on stage to cry at people isn't going to work. I find her difficult and quite irritating to listen to, I won't be the only one.

I agree with that part - but if it had been one of her parents trying to give the same message without this seemingly untouchable proxy in place then they wouldn't have even got anywhere near the stage.

wasn't the best point to make...she needs/wants to get to the USA but doesn't want to fly...no probs, will just grab a racing yacht and be there for one day and get back in a months time

For the exact reason that her parents are equally as unqualified as her to comment on this but don't have the novelty factor. It's like when people send toddlers out on stage singing a song and mimicking the artist, it's cute but ultimately empty.

When the likes of David Attenborough comment then people tend to listen, when it's another celebrity on a vacuous publicity stunt people tend to switch off.

If Greta started lecturing people on the socio-economic disadvantages of black Americans she would probably be told to eff off by those more qualified and with more lived in experience.

I worry that the Chinese are already in advanced stages of human genetic cloning and engineering advanced strains of deadly flu virus, it doesn't mean it's a fact and i should be listened to.

However if a Chinese scientist defected and started spilling the beans on what's going on in the labs, people would listen.

She is being used to scaremonger. Everybody already knows we have a issue with over reliance on fossil fuels and production of waste. It's been the single biggest issue that's been on the forefront of technological advances and research ever since I've been a kid. I can remember watching Johnny Ball talking about renewable energy as a kid in the early 80s.

Ironic really since he was made a social pariah in 2011 for saying global warning was an exaggerated problem.

damn straight, she does my nut in with the screeching and body langauge and im autisic as well..... but we cannot comment on her apparently because she is on the spectrum as well....and also female so that is a no for any critiscm as well.... and then god forbid we comment on her becauase she is only 16.......
