Greta Thunberg

Sir David Attenborough said:
The moment of crisis has come in efforts to tackle climate change. (LINK)
Still, unlike Greta, he is an old guy so he can also be safely ignored.

What we really need is some informed pronouncements from a few concerned 20 to 30 year old all-round experts ;)

Microsoft announcement of recovering all the carbon their company has ever 'emitted' seems challenging,
is that going to include the wasted electrcity and even unecesarily replaced hardware, that their customers incur with their gift to humanity 'Windows' (windows update. etc..)

but I don't want to fall into Greta's demonizing of science rhetoric, could we be making efficient climate analysis if windows had never existed.

checking for bilblical accuracy- Mr attenborough used 2 fish to feed 5000 people ... so how many for the world ?

I'm confused and this coffee hasn't kicked in. Is this thread becoming a 'global warming is a lie' thread? Because if you're seriously suggesting that we just continue as we are with the oceans and that not many people eat what we catch in them, we have more fundamental issues than discussing science.

The BBC have a series of graphs that show the extent over the past ~50+ years. The effects of climate change are.. really worrying.

No - we were fact checking mr attenboroughs discourse that warming due to meat production could be compensated by feeding the world with fish.

Anyone who litters can feed the ecosystem of fish, algae, etc., which saves the animals from trying to eat whatever they would have thrown in there.

I see this as an absolute win.

Or feed some people to the fish.

I see a flaw in your cunning plan. Feeding people to the fishes would obviously require concrete and concrete emits a lot of CO2.

Even better, we could feed the world with insects

A more efficient way to farm animal protein, but it's tough marketing job. There's a gross children's song in the USA entitled "Nobody Likes Me (Guess I'll Go Eat Worms)". Not a great advertising jingle.

I'm eating more plants instead.

Yes, that'll be the libertarian, homophobic UKIP supporting climate change denier will it?

Didn't he advocate the compulsory monthly testing of the entire UK population for AIDS prevention?

If you say so, i was just pointing out you were wrong about Thatcher, so i dont think i will be taking your advice about anybody else thanks.
