Grid 2

I got back into Dirt 3 yesterday after not playing for months. It gets very repetative as there is a very limited number of tracks, but its still good fun.

Grid 1 was epic, if Grid 2 is anywhere near as good it should be great fun.

I am still really dissapointed this doesn't have cockpit view :(

Likewise.. I’m still bitterly disappointed and I’ll simply not be buying it due to this. It is a shame codemasters decided to cut costs in this way. Grid was a great game, made even more fun with interior view; it just made the whole game much better IMO.

Its like saying, we’ll remove bonnet cam, force you to all play with incar, you are taking away a gaming preference. My preference is incar, others are bonnet cam. Codemasters have taken away a choice for gamers. Ever since Microsoft F1GP there has been incar view for semi or full sim racers..

This is such a stupid and sold out move by Codemasters, they are really starting to become one of the worst racing car developers out there due to cost cutting and ill informed choices.

F1 2012 they remove ALL free practice lol so no one can now play a proper full race season, it takes away that immersion.

I still can’t believe their F1 games you cannot hot seat into the AI cars or watch the race complete if you DNF, instead if you DNF the race ends. I used to like using the incar view and watching the AI race around to learn the racing lines.

Project cars allows for this, F1 2012 is meant to be a full F1 game, its not, they are not even close to project cars or Microsoft F1 by Geoff Crammond.

Grid, ok it is an arcade racing game, but it would be nice to have the incar view available. I’ve not seen many games of this type in so many years missing the incar view.

Shame, real shame.

You have a fully valid point (the in car view bit), but when 95% of the people buying the game don't give a stuff about in car you can see why they dropped it. For every 1 person who misses in car there will be 20 people who won't even notice its gone. When your making games as a business, you don't pander to the minority, unfortunately.

Grid 2 feels very much like grid 1 from what i played of it over the weekend.

Grid 1 was a great game in my books so im very much looking forward to the release now, you can preorder from GMG for £20.25 when using the 25% discount code. Hoping my time was good enough on the weekend to win myself a copy though.

Wish i had the room for a wheel.

just like dirt and grid before mods can and will be done.

im messing with dirt 3 at moment and some of the tweaks are awesome.

there is also new realism mod.

ill buy this and cant wait

If they can see how many use Cockpit view, then surely the same Data will show them how many hate the drifting crap, but they keep putting that in...

I think they would really benefit from splitting the franchise into 2 paths.

1) Rally focused, maybe some trail blazers. But, a TON of tracks. Maybe spanning time's through out rally history.

2) Track focused, Grid like, more focused on sim than arcade. Detailed tracks. Detailed cars, cockpit views!!

3) all rounder, all of it, all the arcade stuff, and some of the above haha. But mainly arcade.

They sort of have. They have confirmed dirt 4 will be much more rally focused. Back to Colin McRae style.

But they are not a sim developer. If you want a sim, go elsewhere rather than complaining grid isn't a sim.

I think Grid should be their arcade title like Ridge Racer Unbound etc (maybe even take it to some absurd level)

Then bring back Toca Race Driver as their more authentic, sim oriented racer. More towards arcade and playability rather than full sim focus of pCars and such.

Have dirt as their half between sim/arcade with it being easyish to control without crazy focus on physics, smoke and mirrors shall do fine for me as long as it feels like you are racing a rally car down a country road at 100mph :p

Then F1 can't be a full sim as it would be 100% unplayable with a pad and with only 20% or so of the playerbase having a wheel it isn't an option to go full sim. But it should remain authentic towards F1 so keep it technical and precision as the main key for the gameplay and don't reward players who don't follow the racing line, push to hard or go off track.

Ha well this I do find quite amusing..

Real Racing 3 for Android has believe it or not an in car view..... So codemasters, how does a mobile / tablet etc get a game similar to this that has got in car views?

apart from real cars 3 being a complete and utter cash machine for EA it appears with the stupidly over the top micro transactions, can't deny... Track racing games should have in car view.

Nah, not buying into this bull.

Which bull?

The 'its a limitation of the consoles' line, which I agree, is bull. Or the bit about only 5% of gamers using it so its a feature thats not worth spending a lot of time on if nobody uses, which is a perfectly justifiable business decision.
