Grid 2

GRID was great in my opinion! great graphics, atmosphere,.. disciplines (24h was really good). Took a while to get used to with G25, but after finished all campaign and progressed to multilayer. was fun!

Reinstalled Grid 1 last night- and now found out that PC Multilayer is not available :)

Looking forward to see new GRID 2 game and hope it will be better as first set pretty good standard.

Only around 5% of people use cockpit view. If you do use it I can see how you might be annoyed, but its a lot of work for a small minority of gamers.

I use it all the time, it's a standard view among racing games and has been for years. Why NOT implement it.

Shame, I reckon more use cockpit view then codemasters or the general public believe..

Codemasters said they dropped it due to a large percentage not using the in cockpit mode for online play.. Hmm maybe so, but I reckon they've dropped it as its cheaper and quicker to no longer model the interior views and for this reason no purchase from me as well..

Every single racing game i've played I've used in car view. I'll just continue putting my hopes into Project cars and play Shift 2 for the time being.

They did produce some stats to back up their decision, but yes, I expect the time and money saved in not implementing it is a major reason too.

Grid is hardly meant to be a hardcore sim though, its an arcade thrash about.

Those two options aren't mutually exclusive.

I think that the cockpit view in their other games like Dirt are great, but I don't like using it for actually playing, it's harder lol... I can see why some people are bummed that it's not in though:

:)

It's easy when you get used to it and its not more than a few laps until you know exactly how wide your car is and where the wheels are even though you cant see them

Yes agreed, but some might argue that if you've got a wheel and play with a wheel then why would you need a wheel on the screen?

However I love in car view, and its all I ever use to drive with despite me being at the moment a gamepad racing driver lol if you can call me that..

I think they've made a cheap yet costly mistake with this one.. When I played Grid in car view was all I used.

Probably won't purchase it due to no cockpit camera, I hate playing racing games in any other view. I was looking forward to this as well.

Likewise.. Very disappointed with codemasters on this one. Sadly think it'll be a no purchase, in fact it will be a no purchase from me - shame.

Cockpit cam is rubbish, you're already viewing the game as if through a windscreen by virtue of it being on a screen, having another screen inside that with a this of the space wasted is just daft IMO, it's a completely unrealistic and overly narrow field of view.

Bonnet cam is much better.

I don't use cockpit camera very often, but I appreciate it being there. It's an extra way to play the game, and to my mind that adds to replayability.

I wonder if those stats they have of few players using it take into account that some people might play one of the other views most often, but still use cockpit view for the occasional change.

I don't really see the big issue over the loss of the cockpit view for this game, it's an Arcade style racer after all, if you want cockpit view you should be going for a sim racer. It's not a reason for me not to buy it.

GRID 1 skirted very well the arcade/sim aspects and its cockpit cam was the best until SHIFT 1 came out.
I was very excited about GRID2, hoping its cockpit cam would rival the brilliant cam from SHIFT2, with its helmet, but noooooo, they cut it out completely. Oh well, no buy from me. Unless you are called Split Second, you better have cockpit cam !

For PC users modding the camera position on Codemasters racing games is quite simple, even I have done it on their F1 games so its only the console players who will miss out on a cockpit cam.

Did anyone play this at the Gadget Show Live yet?

I saw on twitter its playable there in 4K on the LG 84-inch LM960V, the world’s first ULTRA HD TV!

Impossible... no cockpit view... No buy for me either.

I play ALL racing games in cockpit view, I find the other views awful and make me play worse. Even F1 2010/11 and 12!
