Grid 2

yes its all about limiting time and money and resources to what is needed and getting the project to meet the required launch date they will have.

if its not worth doing for the majority its probably not been added because of this.

as said someone will probably just mod it in anyway like they did with dirt games.

Looking forward to this but if it has the same annoying idiot from Dirt telling me I should share everything I do on youtube every 30 seconds I'm not going to be happy.... :) It's also a given that half the stuff shown will not be in the game and offered as DLC.

Oh god, the voices. In Dirt 1 and Grid they were novel and quite cool, especially using your real name. But Travis Pastrana grated in Dirt. Then Dirt 2 with "HI IM KEN BLOCK WELCOME TO DIRT 2!" was utterly tedious, and then in Dirt 3, there was two of them! "Your fans will love that, stick it on YouTube!". Just shut the hell up man!

Yea it wasn't too bad in Dirt 2 but that guy constantly telling me to upload to youtube was just annoying, especially since you could only upload 20 seconds or so, oh and it didn't work anyway.

bloody noobs :p crying about the in car view, try a better position and go for front bumper view for those apex hitting corners, if they take that out i will simply "adapt folks" same as u guys will have to if u buy it

(edit) as for the voices, i hope they get bird flu and die, or allow us to turn that carp off

Can't remember the last time I drove a car and was overlooking the front bumper seeing everything without a dashboard in front of me... I find it more rewarding to have to 'find' the apex with a windscreen pillar blocking the view and wing mirrors in view and using my mirrors (when developers bother that is to show whats behind or near you in them) to judge where cars are...

I don't know, I'm not sold on this one. I'll skip it, but for those who are looking forward to this, hopefully its good and you enjoy your purchase. Games aren't cheap, so hopefully it isn't a bad game and worth your money.

I would be more interested to know the percentage of players who never changed from the default camera view!

I would imagine if the cockpit view was the default, then we'd find that the chase-cam would have low usage percentages too ;)

I'm not trying to have a go at you personally or anything but with your above logic surely you would much rather see a helmet cam (like shift 2) implemented into every racing game. I'm sure only 2% of people used that camera angle and it isn't something I could race with.

With the above said I'm also disappointed that Grid 2 doesn't have in-cockpit view as Codies has always been on the forefront of in-cockpit experience, maybe not detail and such but the actual experience in the Dirt games is fantastic! As for the Grid series though I could see it being a camera angle not many players would use and it is something they could say upfront that only 5% of players use this camera angle so we haven't spent much resources on it so the cockpits would be really basic a bit like the GT5 non-premium cars but I'm guessing that is still a fair bit of overhead in testing and such with probably a similar amount of complaints from the community.

I would still love to see cockpit view and I bet the modders will have it sorted out by the end of the launch week :p

Shame the handling uses the car moving around a central pole mode. It makes all the cars feel rear wheel steer and does not look right on external cam.

I didn't get that impression at all from watching it. It looks quite good handling and like any other car game to me.

I remember playing this for about 5 mins because of it though.

It doesn't need to a sim to have cockpit camera... I really enjoyed drifting in cockpit camera on the first Grid. But yeah I'll maybe pick it up on steam when its around £5. Would have been a day one buy otherwise.

Even if people do make a cockpit mod it won't be that great.

Nah, the modded in cockpit view for NFS hot Pursuit when that was released, it kinda worked. TBH that type of game worked without in car view, but this game is just screaming for it..

Lots of neg comments over on eurogamer regarding the loss of it from the last preview. Codemasters have dropped the ball on this one. If its less then a fiver say in the xmas sales might take a look.
