Grid 2

Omitting cockpit view is shocking for a company which has restructured to focus mainly on driving games lol

Its more of a racing company than driving ;) When the races are as fast and fun as they are in their games you dont need the cockpit view. Its the same with the F1 games, nearly everybody uses the t-cam view. I'd love to see the stats on that :D

am I the only one who is thinking the screenshots look no better than grid 1 so far?

Anyway I truely hope they dont screw this up, was the perfect racer for me and completed it start to finish so many times. But after watching that video with moody and his whipped side kick, im kinda worried. I fear there just gona turn it into some nfs/burnout hybrid and ruin everything good about the original, Fingers crossed they dont!

As for the cockpit view im not that fussed myself as i sucked using it, but are they are getting their figures from the online play? If so thats stupid as multiplayer is gona change the way you setup your camera anyway imho. Stinks of saving money which wont be put back into the game, it will be used to line the pockets of fat fingered ceo's in my bitter twisted opinion :P

I'm not surprised, given that its the same engine pretty much. Might be a few tweaks here and there, but it will look similar.

Plus take their F1 games as an example.. they look identical almost!

will be buying this ! seeing as pcars fails to realize you need good handling in racing /car games. was awesome in earlier builds now its like driving with butter on your wheels .

cool cant wait . been waiting for a great car game for the steering wheel for a while

I want to see the crash / damage physics before I commit. Theres nothing worse than a driving game where you plough into a wall at 100mph and the car is fine, just a few scratches. I want to see smoke, broken panels, bumpers flying off, smashed lights and front ends all stacked.

Bad damage physics in a driving game = bad driving game.

The first time round they completely evolved the immature crash physics that most of us were used to and added the excellent live playback with camera rotation.

The rivalry system sounds impressive, especially the the rival AI drivers irritation with you spanning across races! Could be a bit annoying if it's not treated right (imagining cruising along and getting t-boned by an AI driver that I accidentally hit when I got a phone call).
