grievance raised against me in work

Still no word, I'm stressing out big time :(
Theyll drag it out, not out of malice, more that its probably just another thing that they have to attend to which in reality isnt business critical. I presume youve checked all your T&Cs/policies regards how they approach grievances?

I wouldnt worry about it just get your head down and keep busy, nothing you can do about it...

ps3ud0

So I spoke to the general manager and she said that I will be having a meeting either tomorrow or Thursday and that I'll be given a formal letter. I have never felt so neglected in all my life, they're not doing or telling me anything. They must have to have a duty of care for me as well as the person who raised the grievance. I feel so down and so stressed, it's a shame I don't get sick pay. I can't think about anything else other than this yet I'm expected to work which I have been doing but it's tough.

I still don't know what the grievance is about but I'm sure I'll find out at the meeting whenever it may be. Am I entitled to see the grievance raised?

Thanks for all of your help and support guys/girls :)

I would raise this in the meeting so they are aware of your own feelings and have to write them down in minutes, if they have to make a paper trail against themselves they damn sure will do their best to make it look better thus probably treat you better in that situation.

I hope all goes well for you really good luck i hope you feel better soon i know the anxiety can be awful in situations like this just try to occupy your mind with something that does not involve murdering the entire management team :).

You should have not told them anything until they told you what they are accusing of doing.

Now from the questions they asked you can you work out what it could be related to. Also this does not sound like a good company to work for, maybe start looking for new job else where while your still employed in current company.

If it's having that much impact then go see your doctor and get it on record that it's impacting your state of mind and I assume health too. Can only help if there's irregularities in how they have handled the situation. Plus maybe you would genuinely benefit from some counseling though you can self-refer for that.

no smoke without fire. Contrary to common rumour companies don't start these proceeding because they are bored and the fact that its such a ball ache. OP has probbaly had some throw away comments somewhere that someone wasn't happy about

Still means it should be handled properly of course.

The no-smoke-without-fire attitude lands many employers in trouble.

sorry for the late response guys, had a meeting during the week and got issued with a written warning. I am relieved I didn't get the boot and they made their mind up before I even had a chance to defend myself so no point in going into details with them. It's crap but that's just how it is. I am looking for a new job, I feel I've been treated unfairly and this was a clear witch hunt. The list of things on the grievance don't make any sense and I believe they're just peoples opinions. There were things on the list like, "he's obnoxious", "he walks about the place and annoys everyone". It's just a **** take in all honest. Thanks for everything guys :)

Multiple complaints resulting in this meeting it seems. If it were just a couple then sure, office politics could be blamed. But it does seem there is more to this!

There's always more to this. Have you been in GD's careers bit long? ;) Good odds the original post will get edited at some point.

If you can demonstrate that they had clearly made up their mind in advance, they have failed to follow correct procedure.

You can always appeal if you feel you have good reason to disagree with the warning. The letter should have details of how to.

Surely that's just a load of subjective crap - I don't see how that can form part of a disciplinary.

The whole point of a disciplinary is to change behaviour in the desired way - how do you measure how obnoxious you may or may not be? A load of subjective waffle - it cannot be measured, the only potential yard stick would be based on complaints you receive but that's something that is not within your power because people could easily be out to get you.

I'd have told them where to poke that.

I want to appeal the decision but I'm not sure if I have the grounds to? I asked if they had already made their decision and they said yeah and the letter (written warning) was in a sealed envelope. Have they not followed the correct process here? I got called in again yesterday as it seems other people are jumping on the bandwagon - I've never felt this bad in all my life!

You're entitled to respond to any allegations before any decision is made. If they haven't allowed you to do this then correct procedures hasn't been followed (as far as I'm aware anyway).
