GT200 GTX280/260 "official specs"

well seeing as these things are going to run mad hot at 65nm, and from a reliable source will not be nearly as overclockable as the 55nm parts later this year.. i say these ones are not a great step forward

not sure about ATI since they have cheaper cards, i think ill wait till autumn/winter.

Not to mention, i think most people who are buying these when they come out must be solely for crysis.

The GTX 280. Unlike the 9800GX2, the card does not come with a HDMI port built in. The heatsink is similar to the 9800GTX, but with additional vents by the sides of the card.

Two SLI connectors are available for TRI-SLI

6+8pin PCI-E power needed, shows how power hungry this card can be.

Good find Azza.

No HDMI and still no DX10.1 support :(. Nvidia needs a kick up the backside.

sorry if this sounds a stupid question but where it shows a 6+8pin adapter for the power could a 8pin > 4pin molex adapter work?

or what PSU would be suit a card with this power config?

Edit that competitor out mate it's against the rules.

No offence mate but if your running your computer you have in your sig on that PSU + your thinking about a GTX I would seriously change that PSU sharpish, it's one of the most, if not 'thee' most important component in your PC and that PSU is no way going to cut the mustard I'm afraid.

magic, you still have the competitor there, and you also have a 5 line sig (1 line break, and then 4 lines of text) competitors to OCUK are against the rules, and it is 4 lines max in a signature. Not trying to be mean to the new guy, just trying to help you out :)

/on topic. These new cards can't come quick enough - the waiting for reviews is driving me mad :(

at the time i went for components rather than a top psu.
not knowing a huge amount about them i assumed it would be ok?!!!

from your guys reactions i take it it's crap!

i have been looking at this
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-064-TT

as a replacement

Dude, first of all go back to your post and edit out the web link to your PSU, as that shop is a competitor and you are not aloud to post links to them on OcUK forums,

Forum Rules - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_vb_read_and_post

Now back on topic yes that psu is allot better and should handle the job handsomely, it comes with the 6pin and 6+2pin cable that you require for the new GPU's also.
