Wow the 9800 GX2 is doing terribly in those tests in relation to the 9800 GTX. And is Crossfire even on in Crysis and Prey?

Edit: Seems very unlikely actually... The small frame boost the 3870 X2 is getting over the 3870 could easily be attributed to its higher core speed.

I have to admit to hoping the 4870 / 4870x2 gives Nvidia a run for their money this time out.

Without doubt they romped home with the G80 series and took the weewee out of customers with the 9800s. It's looking as if the 260 / 280 will do just enough to retain the performance crown, but it feels as if they are getting complacent and lazy.

If ATI can get close enough to win back a lot of enthusiast customers I don't doubt we'll see Nvidia getting their fingers out and doing something a little more impressive with the refresh cards.

Given the rumours that the die shrink for the GT200 series has already taped out I suspect only the real hard core nvidia fans / performance junkies will be going with the 280 until they see what the 4870x2 offers alongside the Gt200 refresh in the lead up to christmas.

I'm really excited for these new cards, you have got to look at the performance they are going to give compared to say a 9800GTX to understand what a great job NV has done, they have gone out to build a fire eating brick crapping monster that will destroy all that strays in its path and they have succeeded, the 280 is the ultimate enthusiast part no doubts about it and i can guarantee ATI wont come close, IMO.

LOL, do you have Fanboy tattood across your forehead too?

Although they're faster than the current crop, the new cards from NVidia are a long way from "a great job". They're more "brick eating fire crapping" if the early reports of power consumption are to be believed.

ATI are going to solidly kick NVidia's backside with the 4870x2, just you watch.

Course he's a fanboy it's blinding obvious. Funny really since this time last year he swore by ATi till he got that GT :p

"SANTA CLARA, CA—June 13, 2008—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) will conduct a webcast with analysts and investors to discuss new GPU products on Monday, June 16 at 10 A.M. Pacific Time (1 P.M. Eastern time)."
sweet so 2pm it is then- be a nice break from studying anyway!!
Err, last time I checked, Eastern time was five hours behind GMT/BST so that's 6pm here, not 2pm.

Err, why? For posting a relevant review article??

No, because I posted the exact same thing just two posts above your post, and some how you failed to see it.

To be fair mate his post was timestamped a mere minute after yours... so he was probably already writing it when you posted. It happens. :)

At the top left of your post, it shows the time and date posted to the nearest minute.

Edit: See, look, it happened again!
