Well it might be easier to do it on the PS3? Doesn't the PS3 version of GTA use the shoulder buttons and not the triggers? The all buttons on the sixaxis/Dual Shocks in the shoulders are pressure sensitive, so pressing lightly you can aim, pressing firm you can shoot. That is how you play MGS on the PS2 but with the O instead of a circle.
But if it is the triggers, everything i said above is only a dream
But i think half triggers down on either console will be a PITA.

Half-triggers isn't that bad, people. I'd say it was better on PS3 because they don't offer as much resistance as the 360 pad. Therefore you can hold a half-trigger long on the SIXAXIS because you don't have to push as hard. Perhaps I'm a weakling.

Maybe it might even be possible to swith the half and full lockon around so a full press is manual?
I am suddenly thinking giving away those giotech triggers was a bit hasty
(In all seriousness I don't think it will be an issue. As mentioned every button the ps3 controller is pressure sensitive, whereas on the 360 they are not, so you can remap keys if you are unhappy).

I sold my Xbox Elite 360, so getting it for the PS3. Hadn't played the Xbox for 2 months, lay idle because I ended up preferring the PS3 and PC gaming. All my friends own PS3s over 360s so makes more sense for me to go PS3.
Exactly, you have to use a damn site more pressure to get full lock then half lock, it's just more fanboy bashing/sensationalism...
It could easily be argued PS3 will be better because you dont have to move your fingers as much to achieve the 2 different states, you just vary the pressure applied whereas on 360 you gotta move the trigger a good distance further to get full lock.
Either way, all these my pad is better than your pad posts are a bit pathetic.
trigger is about 1.5cm from off to full lock

The xbox pads have improved since gta3 days.
I will be getting it on my 360 as my ps3 is too loud (there's a new one for you)
I won't play uncharted because it makes my ps3 fans spin up to max like in the fan test (uncharted is the only game so far) but i fear that gta will cause the same problem, i also prefer the 360 controller, i have the DS3 but it still doesnt compare imo, plus the 50 friend limit on the ps3 really gets on my nerves

That doesn't sound right mate, I'd give Sony a ring about that for sure, I sit right next to my PS3 at a desk and don't notice it unless the room is deadly silent, it's not far off as silent as my Mac mini.
Didn't think sony would be interested as the ps3 works fine, just need to turn it off at times so i can hear the dyson

Skip, the writer of the 1Up Preview of GTA IV has recently posted on Negoaf adding a couple new lines of Information, First of all his Preview was of both builds of the game and originally didn't include the comment about the 360 controller and he has no clue why that was edited in.
Secondly the problems he wrote about are pretty minimal and only very slightly noticeable. But The most important info he gave out is that the Ps3 version has Sixaxis controls for Cars, Bikes, and Choppers along with a 5 minute Mandatory Install. The R* Employs he was with also said they "think" the Ps3 version looks slightly better, but Skip says playing side by side he couldn't tell the difference and that the opinion of the R* employees he was with didn't match the opinion of all the dev-team @ R*.
