GTX 1070 - any takers?

It's like you want to pay a higher price or something?????

What the price will fall to has nothing to do with what I want. Obviously it would be awesome if the price was lower... I'm just being realistic.

A £100 drop in one month is not realistic.

EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked version to launch with Founder's Edition on June 10

http://en.yibada.com/articles/12940...d-version-launch-founders-edition-june-10.htm

Unless someone at Overclockers can correct me I think that's US only? Ben from EVGA told me the SC would be shipped 2-3 weeks from the 10th

Same this gen. Now u reply to me basing it of performance saying becase I said 1070/80 is mid range it makes 980Ti low which is u basing it off performance so how does that compare to what I said? Maybe use some brain power next time u wana dig at me Bro.

Well it's only logical, if GTX 1080 is mid ranged then a slower older card like a GTX 980 Ti must be low end.

Makes as much sense as the nonsense your spouting, based on architecture alone a card from 10 years ago could still be called high end in comparison to current hardware, that may be true to a point but we use performance to measure this and NOT architecture.

It just makes more sense.

You can't use performance alone that is just silly - but hey if people want to fool themselves that a card using penny pinching electronic components, etc. more typical of a mid-range card is high end I guess that is their business.

It would be like calling the GTX460 high end - nVidia have done their job well :s

It makes more sense for the people who want to change the system and charge more money.

I don't know how long you've been into computer hardware for for many years since the Geforce 2 till the GTX580 we've had the same price brackets for A £200 a £300 and a £400(ultra) card

Now Nvidia want to charge you more each generation as the cards are faster the previous generations line up, which is just not on. they are free to charge as they wish but we are also free to choose not to be taken for mugs. It's not about not being able to afford these items, but about being wise with ones money and not just throwing it away.

You know it I know it but there seems to be a bit of something odd going on with these forums with people trying to change how others view this new system. I can't be the only one who can see this?

You'll be calling people shills next :p

I think it is just the social media thing - an increased number of people these days just seem to swallow and propagate the party line.

To be a little vulgar - I can afford atleast half a dozen 1080s without troubling my finances but you won't see me rushing out to spend £600+ on a 1080.

My Plan is a 1070 next month (EVGA MSI or ASUS) which should tide me over for a few months and either a second 1070 in the Autumn or a 1080TI or Vega Radeon Card depending on performance gains of course.

Because they're trying to justify their purchase by projecting onto other people.

Personally if I buy a card for £380 which I think is only worth £300, I'll be confident that I was happy to spend that money, I won't need justification from trying to change the opinion of people who say it's too expensive.

No chance, unless the RX 480 is closer to it than expected.

The base models should be £320 quid for the cheapest using the same exchange rates as the 1080. I can imagine that soon enough someone will want to be marketing a £299 1070

I'm assuming that 10th June is the date from which these cards are available to pre-order rather than the date they will be in stock? Do OCUK take full payment when you pre-order or when the card is in stock/about to be shipped?

Its still a high end card. Jeezus day before 1080 was released 980Ti was high end day after its now mid ranged? Are you mad? This is basing it off purely performance. The 980Ti is still a high end maxwell card and a new card from another gen dosnt change that nor does it loose performance to make it drop a tier... What actually happens is a mid range card from upcoming gen outperforms the high ends old gen. Simples but if you want to move goal posts to make your self feel better fine see you when 1080Ti and Titan comes as well as vega and goal posts move back to where I have been saying they was in the first place.

OcUK take full payment when you pre-order, theoretically cards should be in stock for the 10th.

Asking the real questions here.

I too, would like to know this.
