GTX 1070 - any takers?

I bet OCUK are playing a wee game of "briefly put up a page with silly prices, so when the real (still high) prices comes out people think they are good.". LOL

Pretty much exactly what the FE card is there to do.

OCUK staff seem to be keeping very quiet on this.

They are calling up Nvidia and trying to get them out of bed and sending them to the forums to read the comedy they have created... They forgot to add another MIRACLE to their Pascal range, the Miracle that will turn even the biggest Nvidia Fanboy into a hater. :p

Reality is vote with your wallets ... Also if you have a decent graphics card think before you spend on this range, do you really need the upgrade and think can I turn down a few settings and still enjoy the game for now while you make a statement to Nvidia and these companies that we will not take it anymore.

Maybe a good time to stand against Intel & Nvidia this year and let them stew a bit, so hopefully next year they get their act together, once their share holders let them have it.

No competition means massively inflated prices. Seeing as AMD had to show a couple of their newest cards was needed to beat Nvidia's newest card, this makes for a sad future.

7970 was launched at $500 and the 680 was launched at $450. No AMD competition this time :(

Vote with your wallets. If they don't sell well at these "new" prices they will drop. Problem is, I think they will have no problem shifting them :(

totally agree but it wont happen.
Just look at all the posts in the CPU forum. "What CPU should I buy"

...skylake skylake skylake everyone cries. The same people that cried and moaned about its price and told people to vote with their wallets.

I'm 95% sure the prices we've seen are accurate. The pages are still up and live for the cards, all they're gonna do is enable the 'add to basket'.

Sure thing Nvidia, sure thing.

does the 1070 msi have any of the rgb affects on it?
The Gaming X has a small RGB logo on the top edge, along with some (rather dim and crappy-looking) red LEDs on the front of the cooler. The Gaming Z, assuming they do a 1070 version of that, also has an RGB dragon badge on the backplate.

Lol, I'd suggest anyone buying a 1070 should keep it to themselves for a while, as they'll be setting themselves up as a real hate figure around here.

:)

Naa not at all, their money and no one can tell anyone how to spend their hard earned money. What some of us are here saying is don't be taken for a ride by these companies and if you can live with what you have for a little longer do so till these companies get the hint and price things right.

Anyone that grabs a 1070/1080.6950x I hope they enjoy it, we all work hard for our money so we should enjoy it and a lot of us here don't even take holidays to pay for our expensive hobby or do without certain things.
