GTX 780 Owners Club

For the people with the stock reference EVGA 780... what does yours boost too on it's own? I thought it was supposed to be 902, but mine is always above 1005... is this normal?

Thanks,

G

Well mine arrived this morning, installed now along with new PSU. :)

Did a Unigine 4 run of GTX 670 last night, and GTX 780 this morning:

MSI GTX 670 Power Edition

Max boost 1241MHz
Memory 6000MHz

Heaven 4.0

Allowed it to run through once, then benchmarked

FPS 36.2
Score 911
Min FPS 22.2
Max FPS 83.2

Maximum temperature: 67°C

Asus GTX780 DirectCUII

Max boost 1032MHz
Memory 6000MHz

Heaven 4.0

Allowed it to run through once, then benchmarked

FPS 53.4
Score 1344
Min FPS 27.5
Max FPS 111.9

Maximum temperature: 66°C

So 911 -> 1344 = +47.5%

+47.5% not too bad :)

Maybe I tinker with overclocking it a bit later.

Nice boost!!

Can we ask the hamster in the time wheel to run faster please? 2pm needs to come already, DPD get here now!!!!!

I will be leaving the 780 Owners club today! My 7990 is on the DPD van and en route! Welcome to all the new members you got some cracking deals.

I did the GTX780 test without reinstalling drivers, dunno if that lost it a few points.

Also with the new PSU the 180mm fan in the top of the case works, so slight cheat on the temps maybe for GTX 780 :).

Really impressed with my windforce 780!

Initially one fan was catching on the cowl at low rpm. But it seems to no longer be an issue. My system is practically silent under load. Really happy. BF4 on ultra is loverly

That would be my choice too, im going to see how I fair with my 7950 to begin with :)

It's different for everyone depending on your hearing, I have my windforce at 100% whilst gaming because the noise which isn't even that loud isn't an issue with headphones.

Well, guess I might as well join the club, during the sale I finally grabbed a 780, wanted it for a long time but the price just wasn't really there, but with the price cuts + free games, it finally seemed attractive. Got MSI GE, currently running 1200/1600 with a steep fan curve since the fans are fairly quiet even at 80%, much unlike my 580 which sounded like a jet at 70%.

Heaven 4:

Score: 1517
Average FPS: 60.2
Min FPS: 24.6
Max FPS: 129.3

Pretty happy with the results, might try to push it to 1300core once I get few additional fans in, but overall, feel pretty satisfied :D

Think BF4 might be the first game I'll overclock my 780 for. Currently testing 1200/1600, should work fine as I've benched the card at near 1300/1800 when I got it.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but my windforce arrived late today aswell, won't get chance to try till later, but I always give fans a quick finger spin to check there free, noticed when I took mine outta box end fan was catching,it was a black covered wire between fan and heat sink catching, just gave a gentle push either end of stiff cable between fan blades, not even a mm and fan spun free.
Only mention because if the same you would be better doing same, rather than fan blade take cover off wire!
