GTX 780 Owners Club

My 780 crashed again after 30 minutes of BF4 , must not be stable :o Got to run it at ~1180 now. Not going to buy a Classified again.

Don't bother testing card stability based of playing BF4 - its crashing for everyone. That said the Redit fix has solved my issues so far.

These are the instructions for fixing the crashes. They really seem to help (it has not crashed since).
Instal and run this to unpack all cores :
http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility
As per this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkfIFP0g2xY

http://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/1q14u9/bf4_i_have_multiple_fixes_that_make_the_game_90/

As per the link I did the below (but not the Net 4.5 instal or the kBoost fix)

Go to the BF4 folder in .\origin games\Battlefield 4\ Open ._Installer\directx\redist Right click on DXSETUP.exe and click "Run as Administrator"
What this does is install the DirectX libraries that were copied to your hard drive but never installed that are needed for DirectX to properly process the game code.

I know three people personally that was having the crashing all the time, I had them do this, rock solid.

If your CPU has the option of Hyper Threading, disable it. Don't argue just try it and compare, this shouldn't help with the game crashing but damn will your game be hella smoother. (This is done in the BIOS, if you are using Windows 8 Google how to restart into your BIOS).
Create a user.cfg (then edit with notepad) config file in the Battlefield 4 folder and then paste this within the file:
RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

Got this from my phantom so far, the core is more or less maxed it seems, there's more in the memory though :) sad I'm sending it back now :( need a 2 slot design!

Ok so within the next two days im ready to take the plunge on a 780, which 780 do you recommend? not just the cheapest but the one you'd say is the best for the money, whether thats the Windforce or whatever else, and I think it's fair to assume the Ti is not worth it at 1080p right? I have the money but im not someone that spends for the sake of spending so if it's not worth it then i'll rule that out right away, thank you :)

I got these last Monday 2x Inno3D GeForce GTX 780 iChill HerculeZ X3 Ultra DHS Edition , even with the 780Ti im still happy as they boost to GPU 1-1189MHz, GPU-2 1176MHz out of the box plus they only run at 70 and 60 degrees full whack.

For benching go for an EVGA Classified, MSI Lightning, or KFA2 HoF. For general gaming you really can't go wrong with any 780 - get the prettiest one.

Yeh I have 0 interest in benching really, I just wanna stay above 60fps on ultra on BF4 as a bare minimum, and im sure all 780's can do that at this point, I hope anyway :D thank you :)

finally got round to installing my GTX 780 Classified and one of the fans is... iffy.

Sounds like a bad ball bearing >: (

It is fine when the fan is at 57% and higher, but anything below that is really annoying

Just be aware the Rev2.0 Windforce that OcUK has on offer at the moment needs 2x8pin power connectors.

You get one 6-8pin pci-e adaptor in the box, so you'll need another if your psu doesn't have an 8pin or 6+2pin pci-e plug as standard.

My idle is 33c / 40% fan with 3 monitors attached. Gpu clocks sit higher than normal at idle with 3 monitors.

Under load, in Heaven 4 or Valley, it's around 60-65c ( 1215 core / stock volts ) with the fans at around 60% (2,650 rpm).

Think my room temp is around 18-20c?

Could anyone with a 780 and an intel cpu 3570k or better please do a Bioshock infinite bench using DX11@1080p and report back the lowest amount of GPU usage they have with 1 gpu? i would really appreciate it.

Just to compare my idle is also 32c fan speed is only 17% with 1 monitor
attached.

Heaven 4 for me takes temps to 71c with fan speed of 54%

stock clocks windforce ghz edition btw
