GTX 780 Ti Specifications Leaked – Full Blown Gk110 Core with 2880 SP

If we just step back a sec, and put aside any bias people have for either camp..

If you compare a stock 290X £425+ VS a GTX 780 £350+

Most people would agree that the cooler quieter running Nvidia card is a more appealing option. Cheaper, arguably just as fast or faster is some cases.

Also definately slower in many cases but overall I agree and would not consider purchasing a ref R9 290 (X) with that horrible cooler. So I do agree at current prices GTX780 looks a more attractive purchase. Having said that my post did specify that very soon (tomorrow) R9 290 will be available to counter cheap GTX780s and Nvidia will not have it all sown up as you claim. Regardless of the fact that 4GB may not be required it is still a selling point.

So with that in mind Nvidia have already put pressure on AMD with a simple price drop. The new GPU's incoming will present a new performance tier, surpass AMD's cards in performance and likely cost more. Nvidia need only make those GPU's cheap if AMD counter.

AMD releasing R9 290X below GTX780 is what put pressure on Nvidia. Funny how we can look at the exact same scenario and come to wildy different conclusions. Without these price drops GTX780 would be ridiculously overpriced.

So what I am saying is Nvidia have an option at every price tier to cater for wide range of gamers.

You make that sound like it's a good thing that Nvidia have a $150-$450 premium tax for 780Ti/Titan (or Titan ultra when it comes out). R9 290X with custom coolers could trade blows with 780Ti in many scenarios. With R9 290 released tomorrow the pressure is back on Nvidia and AMD will also have an option at every performance level. So contrary to your previous post, Nvidia does not have it sown up at every price level. "Sown up" implies AMD will not have a chance, and that's not remotely true.

AMD will react soon, with non ref cards, likely price drops on ref cards, and Mantle unveiling to try and re take the crown. Right now Nvidia is doing ok. When Mantle drops who knows?

I'm not getting excited about Mantle until something other than that gawd awful BF4 gets it. :)

Gigabyte’s GTX 780 Ti is based on reference design. I was actually hoping that Gigabyte would release overclocked model, as they used to, but unfortunately for that we will have to wait a bit more.

This card is clocked at 876 / 928 / 7000 MHz, which are stock clocks for this model. Card is equipped with 3GB GDDR5 memory and 384-bit bus. The GeForce GTX 780 Ti has 2880 CUDA cores, which basically means we are looking at so-called GTX TITAN ULTRA.

Gigabyte also released some official performance figures. In 3Dmark 11 the GTX 780 Ti is actually slower than GTX 780 GHz edition (0,13% difference) and R9 290X (0,82% difference). Of course these numbers are in the margin of error, but I thought it would be interesting to it mention. In Extreme profile results are similar, but R9 290X stays behind all GeForce GTX cards (but beating vanila GTX 780).

In 3DMark Fire Strike, the difference becomes more visible. The GTX 780 Ti is 2,4% faster than R9 290X and 18,9% faster than R9 290. All previous GeForce models are slower than GTX 780 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti will be released in two days for the price of $699.

^^ Nice find frosty. Looks like it is the fastest card then, if it's priced decently then I could be tempted, otherwise I'm set on non ref 290X, something to mess with until 20nm.

Looking forward to seeing official reviews and overclocking.

I've nothing against Nvidia, but I must confess I am struggling with the concept of a 780 Ti (3GB version) @ £550+

The 780 Ti will have to overclock very well for that price point to make any sense vs. the AMD offerings even when making allowances for an Nvidia price premium.

Going on those benches in the overclocking states a 290X will blast past an overclocked 780ti in all but the 3dmark11 extreme bench.

Aye, the Black Edition looks to be the only true/worthwhile successor to the Titan. And even that remains to be seen. So far I'm reasonably unimpressed.

Crossfire 290X seems all the more enticing

Yup, definitely. I do like PhysX too, and G-Sync is definitely something I'd like to try also. But even for someone like me who just wants the latest and greatest even if it's not really necessary, the Ti looks stale before it's even out in all honesty.

Depending on reviews and how the Black Edition pans out I might sit this one out.

The OcUK Tech Labs 290X with MK-26 is £551, as the 780Ti will most likely ship with a decent cooler and beat the 290X out of the box I think that's quite well priced (no idea yet where 3rd party R290X's will land ofc).
