GTX 780 Ti Specifications Leaked – Full Blown Gk110 Core with 2880 SP

lol, round and round we go :D. I'm doubting there will be any Black Editions available as of the 8th though, so will save a considerable dent in the bank till nearer Christmas...

Joy! :D

I have no money till after Chrimbo but been told I can splash out on 20nm, so that's my next purchase. I wouldn't mind one of these for benching purposes and I never say never and if a Lightning version or Classy became available in the ti variety....

So we'll have a 780 GHz edition and then a 780Ti and Ti Black Edition (which is basically overclocked to 1 GHz). Seems a nice way to milk the high end? I really hope we'll see the 780Ti BE coming in at around £550, otherwise these recent price wars could be very short lived. The faster the AIB 290X's come out the better.

^^ The 290X's already look pricey when compared to the vanilla GTX 780's, you can pick up a 780 from £350+, makes the 290X @ 425+ with reference cooling look a bit pricey tbh.

Predicted price for the next few weeks..

GTX 780 £350+
GTX 780 Ghz £425 / £450+
GTX 780 Ti £550+
GTX 780 Ti Black Edition (If released soon) £650+

Nvidia have the high end pretty well sown up..

We could see a GTX 770ti soon as well...

What is sown up about it apart from inflated prices. At stock clocks i expect the ti to win convincingly but most likely boosting to around 1100 or above. Things will even out when both are at max oc.

GTX 780 £350+ / r9 290 + oc models
GTX 780 Ghz £425 / £450+ / r9 290x
GTX 780 Ti £550+ / r9 290x oc models for much cheaper
GTX 780 Ti Black Edition (If released soon) £650+ / r9 290x lightning/matrix/toxic for much cheaper.

I think it's gonna be a lot more competitive than you think.

Oh dear lord .... do I jump ship to NVidia tomorrow or wait till the dust settles?
I can see the headlines now

"jen suan huang bangs in order for solid gold bathtaps on the back of TBags debit card purchase" or should I just settle for a Titan?

:confused::(:confused::o:(:(:mad::eek::D

What would you do Greg et al ? :)

290X is £425+ GTX 780 is £350+ The 780 arguably gives similar in some cases better performance when overclocked, especially with air cooling, along with better power consumption and noise. So there's your value alternative to AMD's 290X.

Anything else in the range above, i.e GTX 780ti and ti black edition 6GB, is Nvidia stamping a claim to the performance crown, Nvidia don't need to 'make it cheap'. They only need do that if AMD can counter...

So yeah Nvidia have every price point sown up, let's see how AMD react. I wouldn't be surprised to see reference 290X's drop down to sub £400 before the month is out, with non ref coming in at current ref price..

He means all sowed up if you forget AMD exist.

R9 290 ~£350 +
R9 290X £425 +

4GB VRAM, much better for ultra res which counts for all those on multi GPU. Excellent CF performance that leaves Nvidia in the dust.

I expect 780Ti to hit at £550 - £600 since Nvidia introduced a 780 GHz edition to sit between 780 and 780 Ti on price. My guess on the Nvidia line-up pricing matches reasonably well with Kap's.

GTX 780 ~£370+
GTX 780 Ghz ~£450+ (it's already this price on OCUK)
GTX 780 Ti £550+
GTX 780 Ti Black Edition (If released soon) ~£700

This seems like a pretty exciting time for GPU's in terms of choice!

This is what happens when the the top end performance from both vendors are so close. The only thing is that if Nvidia get a ~10%-15% performance premium expect a ~40%-50% Nvidia tax.

4Gb is only good if you game at 4k, and even then it does not get even nearly full on tests. You do not need over 3GB, this has been proven in the thread before. Read back.

CF performance is questionable, as SLI performance is about equal and AMD just got their framepacing working a month ago. Eyenfinity CF two weeks ago.

If we just step back a sec, and put aside any bias people have for either camp..

If you compare a stock 290X £425+ VS a GTX 780 £350+

Most people would agree that the cooler quieter running Nvidia card is a more appealing option. Cheaper, arguably just as fast or faster is some cases.

So with that in mind Nvidia have already put pressure on AMD with a simple price drop. The new GPU's incoming will present a new performance tier, surpass AMD's cards in performance and likely cost more. Nvidia need only make those GPU's cheap if AMD counter..

So what I am saying is Nvidia have an option at every price tier to cater for wide range of gamers.

AMD will react soon, with non ref cards, likely price drops on ref cards, and Mantle unveiling to try and re take the crown. Right now Nvidia is doing ok. When Mantle drops who knows?

Hmm, pretty sure I said this in my post. Point being there are plenty of people who use ultra res such as multi-monitor setups.

CF performance is questionable, as SLI performance is about equal and AMD just got their framepacing working a month ago. Eyenfinity CF two weeks ago.

The fact that HardOCP review showed R9 290X in CF absolutely murdering SLI 780/Titan should not be dicounted. SLI and CF performance are not about equal, at least at the resolutions [H] tested. Now before you go off on a "those are not the most common resolutions". I posted this in response to Kap declaring Nvidia as having the high end all sown up.

You seem to be completely discounting the 290 (non x) though?

4GB might be needed once developers start upping texture resolution to make 4K even more worthwhile...

I would put my thumb in my mouth, pull my knees up to my chest and then rock gently back and forth whilst humming the theme from Twin Peaks. :p

If money doesn't come into it, for sure the 780Ti but if money conscious, the 780 or if you prefer team Red, the 290X.

Tough call Tony.
