I *still* cannot believe what big balls these Maxwell cores have. To beat a Ti that has 35-40% ish more cores on the same process is phenomenal!!

To be fair they are clocked 300MHz higher stock, we have no idea how conservative or not that is.

check the bench 780 ti@1306mhz still beats a 980 @1449mhz i don't think u can go higher on air with 980(maybe 1500mhz max) so its not so good

maybe sli will be better than 780ti sli i agree

I never touched my post

I was showing kallyyy what is what with a 780Ti Classified Vs a 980 and they are both pretty much the same clocks.

Been a lurker for over a week, trying to get the latest info but had to share and say it's actually here!

I'm based in NZ, got a call from my local supplier that they had one Gigabyte GTX 980 unallocated. Needless to say I went up their quicksmart and bought it. Cost in NZD is around $970 inc taxes. Unfortunately it's 11:25 am and I can't do any testing/installing until I get home.

If its that much they can stick it up their pipe, as the 780ti isn't too far off the mark, if that. Buy second hand 780ti easily now.

Yup it's true. We do get screwed on prices. Good thing there's the internet and international shipping.
