Been a lurker for over a week, trying to get the latest info but had to share and say it's actually here!

I'm based in NZ, got a call from my local supplier that they had one Gigabyte GTX 980 unallocated. Needless to say I went up their quicksmart and bought it. Cost in NZD is around $970 inc taxes. Unfortunately it's 11:25 am and I can't do any testing/installing until I get home. :(

Pic below in the spoiler. I'll work out dimensions if you guys are interested?

^^for a NZ reference thats cheaper than a 780ti at usual NZ prices( usually $1000-1100+depending on model were iirc 1200+on launch), been a few sales on them lately, but for a standard price 980's seem to be cheaper
Welcome Holmium btw Best place imo on the net for info and help

Some of the 780ti I've seen were listed around 1100 - 1300 NZD (old prices). Was referred to a company that's now selling them for around $850 inc taxes. So the price difference now is basically $100 between the ti and the 980.

A certain competitor no longer shows the 780 or 780ti for sale, but does a 970 and a 980, although links aren't official
Also they only have 1version of 290/x on offer now.

Are AMD up to something , or just the retailer ?

I guess £369 for the 970 and £595 for the 690. Or there abouts.

Shame that prices for new stuff are always going up never going down because the tech is cheaper to manufacture etc. Which i assume it is cheaper.

Prices in dollars are really good..

$329.99 for the 970 and $549.99 for the 980.

Let's see how that translates over here :p
At a guess..

I say GTX 970 going be around £249 to £299 and GTX 980 going be £449 to £499

I reckon the GTX 980 is going be about the same prices as what the 780ti's were ..;)

Example
$549 = £334 + 20% vat = £400 then you have shipping cost to retailer and any import charges and also maybe retailer mark up costs...
