Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (2023)

Just got back from the cinema seeing this and I thought it was fantastic. Some real sad/dark bits in places but also contained all the good action and humour from the first two.

Nothing felt forced and all characters got a decent amount of screen time and story, without doubt one of the best MCU films in a long while.

Finally got to see it after a false start when it first came out (saw the first 20 mins then had to leave as was feeling sick)

Best Marvel film for awhile if you ask me. I honestly thought loads of them were going to die going in so it was a bit of a shock that none of them did.

Decent villain, though his motivation was a bit flakey and it still didn't really explain why Rocket was the only one to have intelligence to work out complex stuff?

Decent amount of humour. Gamora didn't have a great deal to do, but most of the other cast got a fair crack at it.

It was funny hearing Vin Diesel do an English line reading near the end, at last. And when they saved the animals it also amused me when the monkey immediately attacked the woman.

8/10

Agree with this! I thought this film was amazing, a real emotional rollercoaster that could bring tears to the eyes one minute and have you laughing the next. The story was good, for a Superhero film, and the special effects were excellent, overall I rate it as one of the best films I've ever seen...

Well that was a joy to watch. Really enjoyed it and just a brilliant film able to bring out lots of different emotions.

Now want to go back to Disneyworld and the Guardians ride again.

How was it? My final day of my trip was the opening of that ride. Unfortunately we couldn't justify queuing for that one ride to then rush to the airport, but was sad as could easily be 10 years before I'm back and finally able to enjoy it
Just been myself. Managed to ride 3 times… it’s great.

Finally managed to see the film while there as well, deffo didn’t cry at Linda Cardellini’s character. Not one bit.

We did it 5 times over 2 weeks, it’s that good! Managed to get different tracks for 4 of them too, which was a bonus. The only coaster better was Velociraptor at universal.

Iron Gwazi says hello :p
Not done that yet - But going to seaworld and Busch Gardens for the first time this year - looking forward to it.
nice.

velocicoaster was amazing. out of this world good. the tech in that really makes other coasters look old.
Thanks for the ride correction, been a long day. The best decision we made was to wait an extra 5 minutes for front seats - then it is simply amazing.

@Loosecannon have a good time. Yes, I do a borderline alarming amount of travel to theme parks and Iron Gwazi is incredible, a real ‘coaster fan’s’ coaster and my current number 2 - you should consider mixing Florida up with Cedar Point / Kings Island for a shorter, different sort of trip :)

ANYWAY!

I saw guardians 3 at the cinema at the weekend. I thought it was really good. I liked that it was fairly narrow in scope, it actually ended (unlike a certain other superhero film out in the cinema), loads of feels.

I though the humour wasn’t quite as strong as in other guardians film and occasionally flopped, but that’s a fair swap for the extra feels.

The villain was really well acted IMO, thought he was the one of the best from the genre.

I’m not too sure about the ‘internal drama’ going on within the guardians team, but whilst it may not have been wholly convincing it didn’t detract from the experience.

Yup, worth a trip to the cinema. Good stuff! 8.5/10

I am not sure what to make of it. I think it was a very clever story, in that it had depth, but it was tedious at times. It also went too far with the "friends" thing. It should have ended fifteen minutes before it did.
