Guild Wars 2

asuran elementalist (main)
char engineer
norn warrior (or guardian not sure)
Human mesmer (because it will be mesmer, or based on GW1 mesmer)
sylvari.... Ranger? Necro perhaps? tough call.
Human Guardian perhaps.

Id like sylvari ele but it would look a tad retarded with fire... wouldnt sit right with me (same as you for RP reasons)

Use Earth + Water only on a sylvari elly then :p

With fire they would look daft, same with air since lightning normally strikes trees.

My main will be an elementalist, I dont want it to be human and I hate the Asura.

No, the first game only had 4 slots on launch, +2 slots for factions and nightfall.

And yet for some reason I have 9 slots... did we get a bonus slot for something long ago that i've forgotten? As i've never bought a slot

EDIT - Ah!

The Guild Wars Nightfall Prerelease Bonus Pack came with one additional character slot.

That'll be it then :D

As for characters, the only two I'm certain of are:

Charr - Guardian
Sylvari - Ranger

I wouldnt want to ignor fire and air. seeing as those are probably the primary damage dealer elements. Though i like the asura i understand why some dont. I would play a human ely too i guess.

sorry but what have missed? people playing gw2 now? alln i hear is people transferring there char from gw1? whats going on lads?

GW2 isn't out yet, they've just introduced the Hall of Monuments where it keeps track of your accounts titles, mini-pets, hero armour, certain weapons and armour then these points will give you some stuff in GW2 to show you played GW1. All purely cosmetic

Yea well, just have a Sylvari with Earth or Water as the favored element on creation, and use fire / air only if needed.

Water and Earth will be speccable for damage too, keep an eye on this build creator, its brilliant fun to play with so far:

I just finished getting rank 4 luxon this weekend with the event, so now I only have 2 more titles and obby armor left to get.

I have 81 ectos and 54 obby shards so far, still need a lot more :(

GW2 just looks a natural progression of standard MMO graphics, albeit with very nice art design and attention to detail. SW:TOR has gone for a graphical style that isn't jaw-dropping, but wants to withstand the test of time and still look pretty neat on low-end engines, much like WoW.

At the moment I prefer the way SW:TOR looks - it's slightly cartoon aesthetic gives it a lot of character, which I consider far more important than polygon count. It's the same reason I still think WoW is a great looking game (give me Azeroth over Telara / The Hyborian Age every day of the week), despite it always being behind the times technically.

Guild Wars 1 was actually very low poly count, and the second one seems to be too.

Hovever they used a lot of T+L lighting effects to cover it up to the point that you cant notice the low poly count as much, whereas the look that WoW + Swtor use looks far too blocky and polygonal.

Guild Wars 1 graphics definitely did stand the test of time and it still looks great today (Runs on a Geforce 3 minimum spec, and easily maxes out on an ancient 6600GT if not less). Though a lot of people who have become interested in GW2 didnt play / dont know much about the first one.
