Guild Wars 2

I'm not overly fond of dungeons in GW2. And I dispise Fractals. Even on low levels mobs in both hit for an absolute shedload of damage, and are completely full of artifical mechanics.

What is the guild based on PvE sPvP or WvW?

Mostly PvE, WvW seems to have taken a step back but they encourage you to group with others doing it, as there is always a few people doing each type of thing. There is always 30 or so people online so you can either do your own thing or join others.

I really love the whole jumping puzzles, I did my first one the other night and it is a great addition. :) Cant wait to do them all.

I levelled pretty quickly during the first LS of this end chapter so now I am having a break and doing exploring as I have mostly been in Kryta so I am out enjoying the map. I think I am about lvl 64. :p

Decided to log into this last night, as I haven't logged on in about 4 or 5 months.
Played for a short time on my low level elementalist, and decided that the class appears to be still rubbish compared to any other class in the game. :(

Maybe dagger/dagger is good but considering that gives you no range, and you have the lowest health out of all the classes and very little armor I don't see it as a good trade off as you are too squishy to play at that short range.

Apparently ele will be getting some decent buffs/changes in the upcoming class balance patch.

Don't quote me on that as I'm not playing at the moment - just what I recall reading on the forums a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I read that there's a class balance patch coming, so I'm gonna keep an eye out for it.

APRIL 15th FEATURE PACK

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/feature-packs/

"Prepare to experience Guild Wars 2 as never before! The April 2014 Feature Pack is the first release to focus exclusively on in-game features, and it's bringing in brand-new systems, improvements to existing features, balance updates, and more!"

This is the big overhaul of the game, lots and lots of quality of life improvements are being made. As such they are releasing blogs over the next couple of weeks detailing some of the major up coming game changes.

First off is an overhaul of the Trait Point system. They're condensing the current 70 trait points down into 14 (each worth 5 of the old trait points) to stop people making horrible builds that aren't in multiples of 5!

Also Trait resetting will become free and will be able to reset from anywhere via a button in the Trait panel.

Changes are also being made as to when the different Tiers of Traits unlock, there will be no more Adept/Master/Grandmaster books, instead the different Tiers will unlock as you progress in levels. Adept at lv30, Master at lv60 and Grandmaster at lv80.

The biggest change however is to the Traits themselves. Previously at each Tier all traits would be available ready to use. Not any longer. Much like learning Skills and Capturing Skills in GW1 they are bringing back having to 'learn' Traits by completing content.

"Major traits will now be unlocked via traits guides, a new in-game item. Double-clicking on a trait guide will unlock its associated trait. You can find trait guides by completing specific content in the world, like story dungeons, minidungeons, WvW, personal story, specific bosses, and discovering certain areas on the world map. As excited as we are to let players earn traits with feats of bravery and cunning, we know not everyone is the exploring or adventure type—which is why we’ve included the option for you to buy trait guides from profession trainers! The cost of current traits varies based on the tier of that trait. Newly added traits to the game will be set at a higher price point."

On top of this EVERY class and EVERY Trait line is getting a brand new Grandmaster Trait. That's 40 new Traits!

Have a ready of the full thing here:

Does this include the Ele changes that will buff them a bit? Been enjoying my Guardian, but as usual watching some Wooden totoes vids and it gives me a hankering for me lil Asura..!

I think every class is getting a balance and overhaul in the process.

Plus the majority of the game mechanics. I believe dyes are becoming account bound. Souldbound items are possibly getting removed entirely. Plus a ton of other stuff.

Shaping up to be a good spit and polish of the core game!

Well I managed to get back onto it last night, levelling my Necro. Not sure how the endgame goes but I will have plenty of time to research it and it will change a lot before I get to cap I think. Is it level 80 the top level?

Any tips for saving items I may need would be a great help a bit overwhelmed atm since having a very long time off this game and never reaching cap anyways.

I am also looking for a guild to join, PvE pref but I think I might do some PvP at a later date

Account bound dyes is most welcome!!

Have they nerfed the drop rate for dyes by the way? On my ele I would get a dye pretty much every session (and back when I messed around on my guardian in that first 8 months to a year), but since firing it back up and levelling the Guardian I have had no dye drops at all..

Initially they dropped very rarely and prices were around 20s each, then they broke the drop rate and they dropped left right and centre (prices dropped to around 3s each), then they 'fixed' the drop rate which made them about twice as rare as originally (prices stabilised at around 38s each).

With the announcement that dye is going to become account bound they've just shot through the roof as people are buying them up ready for unlocks and they are sat at close to 1g each!

After the April patch unidentified dye will no longer drop at all, and will only be attainable via laurels, mystic forge, and cooking.
