Guild Wars 2

1-80 just enjoy the game, try out all the weapons your class can use, don't worry about builds and min/maxing your gear, just go explore, and don't try and rush to 80.

Enjoy the world, go find cool areas, do the events you come across, and work on your map completion.

I'm fairly new to this, currently a level 15 ranger, anyone got any tips for a noob? :)

If you continue to run a Ranger (my starting character too), don't expect using ranged weapons to be welcomed later on, non-magic ranged just isn't as effective as melee, and people will be wanting to you run stuff like sword and warhorn, and get in to the fray.

That's I re-rolled with a Guardian and Warrior (I'm crap with mage types).

Thanks, I'm currently trying out bows as well as swords and daggers.
I wasn't exactly planning on rushing to 80 anyway and I'll probably try to 100% most, if not all, of the areas.
What about crafting professions? I currently have weaponsmith and huntsman chosen but I'm not sure if they're the best for a ranger?

If you want to make your own armour you'll want leatherworker - but you can easily rely on drops or trade to keep your gear in line with your level. So if you want to make giant flaming hammers instead of leather boots, go ahead.

You could always create another character with different crafting professions and never leave your home city. The bank of crafting itens is shared across your account.

Rangers are likely to get some sick buffs when the next feature patch hits - most likely late September or early october.

Keep playing, that's for sure. :)

For those that didn’t see it, signets now affect rangers naturally and SotB has been replaced by a 10% damage boost against crippled (IIRC) opponents. BM pets specific traits have been made generic so they affect all pets. GS got buffs on all 5 skills, LB had a damage boost on autoattack at close and medium range, RF got it’s duration halved, barrage is half a second (IIRC) faster. Axe AA now grants might for every target hit. PoSs moves 25% faster. Brown and polar bear roars are now physical attacks.

i tried a ranger, thief, arcane guy cannot remember the class name, guardian and warrior. all till at least level 40.
warrior is the only one i took to level 80....it was just so much more fun and felt far more powerful too.

thats good to know. Unfourtnatly I havent touched this game since release. I've only played a few hours as a warrior and thought maybe I was missing out...

depends on your play style, I'm loving playing my daggered necro but I can swap to staff if I want to be ranged.

and whilst your low level gather EVERYTHING, crafting actually gives you a ton of XP for doing not a lot

what's everyone else doing at lvl 80? I just seem to pvp all the time slowly levelling up all my alts

I haven't played since Saturday and unless I'm missing something big those Skill Bar notes are for the upcoming patch and haven't yet been implemented in game.

Rangers will be buffed and may be even better counter to thieves. I hope mesmers finally get some much needed fixes and buffs to certain weapons/traits/skills.

The Dragons Reach : Part 2 --- August 12, 2014

A historic summit is about to take place in the spreading shadow of Mordremoth’s advance, but not all of the world leaders have agreed to attend. Can you convince uneasy allies to come together and cooperate, or will lingering tensions spell Tyria’s doom?

This episode opens up more land for you to explore! Venture further into Dry Top and test your mettle against the new foes you find there!

Looks like Mordramoth (or one of his Champs) is going to crash the party :D

I may pick up 3 accounts for this soon. Any beginner suggestions for a party of 3? One of us will probably play more than other 2, will we be able to explore the content properly if he gets ahead in levels?

The way Guild Wars 2 works while exploring is great! It will auto correct your level to suit the environment your in!
So say your lvl 80 and go back to a starting area it will decrease your lvl accordingly. Thats not to say you wont have an advantage but it will not be massively overpowering. Get yourself into too much trouble and your a dead man ;)
So to answer your question, he can come back to help you whenever he sees fit! :) Just a bit of repetition to overcome really. And in some cases you will be glad of the help. Trust me!

Just re-installed this in what was the most frustrating download ever as the download kept stopping and saying that there was a connection error.

Have a Level 32 Human Warrior that I started from release but only played about 3-4 months then stopped. Looking to start a new character but haven't branched from Human in either of the 2 games.
