Guild Wars 2

Just re-installed this in what was the most frustrating download ever as the download kept stopping and saying that there was a connection error.

Have a Level 32 Human Warrior that I started from release but only played about 3-4 months then stopped. Looking to start a new character but haven't branched from Human in either of the 2 games.

Funny thing is i find the human starting area the best of all the races.
Id recommend a Norn! Practically same as human only much bigger. Good starting area always lots going on. Great Cultural armor sets also.

But the Asura are also worth a look. Its still so funny seeing a little tiny cute thing with big ears pummeling most of the mobs. Also good for those jumping puzzles.

Build a few mixes race/class up to lvl 10 will be enough to decide whether to take the character further id say.

Your missing out not venturing into other races. The story lines are great for some of them!

By the way! Does anyone know of any decent active guilds that are recruiting? Im currently on Gunnars Hold but with the new mega servers im not sure how important that is now?
Been away a while and my guild has become inactive. Mostly play PvE but not opposed to PvP or WvW if needed. And im always up for Dungeon runs.
Have a lvl 80 guard and wiped the rest so now have various low lvl alts. Looking to build them up! But soloing is quite difficult at times.
Can someone please point me to a good guild, Id be very grateful?

I picked this up and started playing it a couple of days ago and I have some questions:

1. The 3 of us got the Heroic Edition which came with some rewards. One of us created a character, ran around with it for a bit and then swiftly deleted it (women... ). I don't know if she opened the message with the rewards (armour and mithril bag) but it's gone now, is there a way to get the rewards back?

2. My rewards included a choice when opening the armour sets. I was clueless so I picked randomly and that resulted in armour my class can't wear. Can I transfer it to chars that can wear it?

3. Where is the bank? I keep sending craftable items somewhere but I've no idea where they go.

1. I think in GW1 you could put /reward in the chat window and get unused rewards resent.

2. Yep, visit a banker in one of the cities and plonk into your shared storage

3. They're in cities and sometimes out in the world near groups of crafting stations. Look for an icon with a pouch on it.

Might have to contact support and get them to reinstate your freebies.

Yes you can, also the skin will be unlocked in your 'Wardrobe' (accessed via the Bank), so you can apply the skin as many times as you like.

Bank access is available in many places, all major racial cities (The Grove, Hoelbrak, Black Citadel, Rata Sum, Divinity's Reach), Lion's Arch, all the WvW areas, and there is bank access dotted around in various maps, just look out for the q7cm3C2.png symbol on your mini-map. You can also access your bank from any Crafting Station as well.

Dont Know if there's actually a correct place for this post!
I basically installed guildwars 2 (fine) but it needs to update loads before playing! but all it seems to do is - connection error(s) detect for ages! any Ideas?

Cheers

Looking at the GW2 forums, it seems to be affecting multiple people, and has been on and off for the last 5 months from a quick Google search. Just tried running the game here and it's doing the same thing here.

Found some new life in GW2, not that I ever stopped playing. I'm enjoying (in a sadistic sort of way) the jumping puzzles. I didn't realise how many I had missed.

I had this problem when I re installed it this week and found that changing the country to Germany on the log in part worked for me, then obviously changing it back when it was finished.

Announcing the September 2014 Feature Pack

Hello, Tyrians!

I’m excited to announce that the September 2014 Feature Pack is on its way and will hit Guild Wars 2 on September 9!

We’ll be announcing the details of each of the features and events tied to the feature pack here on the Guild Wars 2 website over the course of the next three weeks.

To kick things off, we’ll be focusing on new PvP and WvW updates.

For those of you dying to know what the future holds: Living World Season 2 will be going on break for a while as we count down to the arrival of the September 2014 Feature Pack. You can look forward to the return of Season 2 in autumn, and we’ll announce the start date for episode 5 after the feature pack has been released. Episode 4, “The Dragon’s Reach: Part 2,” will remain active until episode 5 is released, so you still have time to log in with a character and unlock this episode’s story content!

We hope you’re as excited about the September 2014 Feature Pack as we all are here at ArenaNet, and we look forward to seeing you in the game!

I'm playing this again from fresh, forgot how much I loved the game.

Still surprised it isn't more popular than it is, truly brilliant game that is streets ahead of other MMO's out there (IMO)

I've been playing a bit recently to having started from fresh. I think what held this back was the endgame, which is still pretty weak - if they had a well rounded sense of something to do at 80 this would have snowballed, but instead people play for a little while every now and then and put it back on the shelf for a future patch.

I think the problem for me was that after about lvl40 your character doesn't really change much. You've likely got every skill you want, the only thing that will change is your equipment, which will largely not be much different but will just scale to the level.

I also think the gameplay is far too repetative, even for an MMO, to sustain it over 80 levels.

I still play it occasionally, but it doesn't tend to hold my interest for long these days.

Is it really lacking endgame or is it just different from normal mmo endgame?

Most have a handful of raids, dungeons and battlegrounds at end game. GW2 has a handful of dungeons, world pvp, world events and living story this is no less than other mmo's just different than what we are used too. (IMO)

I do concede the character development point though I don't think any mmo's have the amount of customisation and development they used to have sadly.

This is all just my opinion as I really like the game, it certainly has some flaws but I just find it a little sad it isn't as popular as it could/should be.
