Guild Wars 2

Think part of the reason I stopped playing was Rangers really never got buffed enough to compete with other classes in PvP/WvW. We were 4th I think for damage in PvE but our PvP game mostly sucked unless you were extremely skilled. I could have rolled another class but I've always like using bows in MMO's, briefly tried a warrior with LB but wasn't the same.

I'm an on and off GW2 player, though tbh I suck at the game but love the art style. It's what draws me back to the game every so often, just to run around the world itself and explore.

Got a lvl 80 guardian, 80 necro, 50ish something engie, and I think a 20ish elementalist. I don't think I've got a fifth character.

Looks like an expansion is all but confirmed.

Hope the expansion reignites my enthusiasm.

I loved GW1, and each expansion added something to the game (in varying amounts). I maxed out all of my chars and the addition of Heroes was amazing.

I clicked with GW2 initially, and levelled up a couple of chars to lvl 80. I started a couple of others but just did not feel the urge to continue. The 'Living Storyline' just didn't intrigue or involve me - the whole game just seemed to be a wandering zerg-fest. The graphics and environment are great, but I just dip in now and then without really pushing the 'game'.

I hope this expansion works as I think GW2 is a bit of a missed opportunity. But if it's just extra areas and a few extra character classes then I won't be that bothered really.

But, here's hoping for more - I'm just not sure what...

About ******* time.

I sincerely hope they expand the class/weapon/trait/skill system for fresh variety and builds.

Okay guys, I have a quick question.

I am looking to switch over to Intel to get a ... "not so laggy" gw2 build going.
Do you guys have a good build with decent FPS and if so what specs are you running.

I am looking to compare specs of decent machines to come up with a build for me.

Thanks in advance folks!!!
Here's My current specs folks.

  • Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard Rev1.1
  • Superflower Platinum 1KW PSU:D
  • 8GB DDR3 Ram X1
  • MSI R9 270X 4GB edition GDDR5
  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
  • AMD 8 core PSU ( might be a FX 8150 black edition
  • Crucial M550 128GB SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive - OS and vital software
  • Seagate ST1000DX001 3.5 inch 1TB Hybrid Internal Solid State Drive

I know .... AMD bulldozer. So you can see my plight yeah XD

If you can get the extra 200 for a budget of £1000 I'd go for a 5820k X99 build with a GTX 970 which would future proof you for a while.

Otherwise just save some money and get 4790k build and maybe a GTX 980 which to be honest may even be better than the X99 build for gaming.

So apparently this is going for about £8 this weekend on their website. Is it worth the punt? I quite liked WoW for the graphics style and the lure, etc but would like to spend money on an alternative that doesn't require me to sub. I'll do PvE, but I'll mostly level up doing quests. Will I like it?
