Guild Wars 2

If they're seriously going to introduce vertical maps then they'd better sort out the broken camera system that makes some jumping puzzles and indoor gameplay a pain in the arse.

Not played this properly in god knows how long. How far behind are level 80 exotics for armour and weapons? I used to love roaming around in PvP.
Exotic armour, ascended weapons, ascended trinkets - this is usually the best price/performance combo,

Ascended armour is totally not worth the stat increase - if you must then just do the chest piece. Also remember you can't salvage ascended armour if you needed to.

Ascended weapons are definitely worth it. ~5% damage increase and also infusion slots.

Ascended trinkets of course are a given.

Ascended stuff is for people who have too much time on their hands. I've played since release and I've not got any ascended stuff. I don't do much pvp so its of no real consequence. I liked the look of the ascended sword but found out it would take a massive grind to get the items.

I thought I was going to make one of those Ambrite Fossilized weapons then I found out the grind it would take to make one. I have all the bits apart from enough geodes to buy the recipe. I kinda gave up the grind, it was too boring.

I've been keeping all my Dragonstone ore and bloodstone stuff etc... In hope that one day ill have enough time to do something with it. But I prefer questing and killing bosses.

Its quite a diverse game in that if you don't want to grind there is plenty else to do.

The only grind is in levelling crafting professions to 500.

The actual ascended weapons are not very expensive and relatively easy to get - especially with things like the "new" pvp glorious reward track (good source of ascended crafting materials). Chances are, if you want ascended you're either intending to be heavily into wvw or fractals. Personally I hate the latter so not going to talk about it further, but for wvw you get both practice and "free" materials from playing pvp.

Just avoid armour, especially light armour - unless they changed the ludicrous quantity of silk and other materials for crafting it.

To summarise, order of priority for acquiring ascended items:
Trinkets > Weapons >>> Infusions for Trinkets/Weapons >>>>>>>>>>>> Armour

Installed it again just not sure I have the enthusiasm anymore, i put over 1000 hours into it and just can't get motivated to go back. Granted a lot of those hours were spent idle while working from home but still.

Anyway took a couple of snaps of my two chars.

nice shots ^^

I booted this up over the weekend and rolled a fresh Warrior, forgot just how good of an MMo this is.

Good luck with that.

The new trait points system has really ruined the levelling experience for players who've played before. I started a new Elementalist a few days back, a class I've always wanted to play but never got around to, but the crappy new trait system is no making levelling her any fun at all, despite it seeming like a fun class to play. She's currently sat at Lv.35 with just one trait point available.

I hate the way you learn weapon skills now. I much preferred getting a percentage every time you kill a mob. You get to know the skill, and know what weapons you have not tried.

My son downloaded this last night, unfortunately to his C drive which is pretty full. Can you just move the game folder to another drive and make a new shortcut or does the game have to be re downloaded?

Pretty sure you can just run the installer again, point it to the required path you want and then drag the gw2.dat (should be 19.7 GB) file across. Then just delete the copy on his C drive.
