Guild Wars 2

sorry guys for not been on much. It's typical, I just start playing an MMO again and life decides that that's a good time for me to be too busy to play :( Hope to free up some time in the next few weeks.

The nice thing with GW2 is that it doesn't matter. :)

You can dip in and out whenever you like with no consequence (although I do recommend trying to put in a couple of minutes to login and get the daily login reward - no effort but the laurels are useful in the long run).
 
That's the one thing I love about GW2, that you can drop it and come back to it at anytime.

And you are right, I should login daily. Just keep getting side tracked.

im logging in daily for that too im on my thrid way through the rewards, love them!! :D im stockpiling tomes so I can get a revenant when its out and insta-80 him/ her

I wouldn't bother trying for an instant 80. I'd far rather learn to play the class as I levelled and only use Tomes for the last 30 or so when the XP requirements get higher. I came back after a long break and didn't even know how to kill anything with my 77 Elementalist any more; I've had to bench her.

Also Tomes are really good for getting the Survivor achievement - 77 to 79 is 460k by itself, so you only need 40k more to cap out. That's three events, pretty much.
 
I preferred crafting my way to 80 anyways, but have about 20 tomes banked so far and a birthday booster for instant 20. So I should be able to fly through most of the early stuff when the new class lands!

may just use my 20 booster then and get my other classes to 80
 
Yeah, not sure I want to buy more slots though. May have to pick one of my characters to be deleted. I have some gold sitting about so may be able to buy the gems that way, but I have no idea how many gems you get anymore or how many you need for the slots!
 
I've never played guild wars before but I have played WoW. How does it compare? I don't really want a grind fest where you HAVE to spend hours raiding in order to get better gear.

How active is GW2?
 
I can't comment on the first question, as I've only just returned from 18 months away, but everywhere I go there seems to be people around, so it does seem fairly active.
