[H] issued team challenge for Citizen Science Grid

Still just clinging on to 3rd place, won't be long before the french overtake us though.

Andy needs to put down his margarita get off his bar stool by the pool and get back home and turn his rigs on !

It was in the comments that the Frenchies currently have 42 participants, compared to us with 3, so we're not doing too bad, though I think we'll be losing another spot to our friends at EVGA soon. We sure are missing Andy's rigs, and him of course ;)

Did a bit of shopping for you, get a couple of these...

Think I might have skimped on the memory though :D

Well you could have put it in basket format for me
Joking aside that's kind of what I've been looking at, but without the quadros and with 'Extra Spicy' chips.

I could have put it in a basket for you but then I'd probably be tempted to click the Go to checkout button !

As dawn broke this morning Evga slowly crept past us, so down to fifth now :(
Good news is that is likely the lowest we will go :)
We are hanging on and they aren't rushing away so maybe, just maybe....

...and also PDW crept pass jondi_hanluc except I ain't keeping up :D I think I made the wrong choice in just crunching subset, I chose it as I knew what the run times would be when bunkering, DNA is all over the place but I now have 30,000+ pending credit with so many of my wingmen with mobile phones that have error work units and also are currently unsent to anyone else

That would be quite a system !

That's similar to yours isn't it? the board and CPUs anyway, I saw your rig in the Z10PE-D8 thread, I've been looking for 2695s but can't see any available, but 2680s are available, less cores but higher clock speed, don't know what they turbo up to with all cores running though.
However I'm still undecided whether to take the plunge or not.

Sorry :o
I thought if I didn't mention it you might not have noticed that.

I checked my phone tasks and none of them have failed so it isn't me :p

I have about 42,000 pending credit for Subset and 142 DNA tasks (no idea what that will turn into)

If this is where we stay at least it helps build on the solid foundation that Voicon and CrimsonBoli have been doing for the past few months. It will be good points for the Vault if the project gets added :)

Yeah it is similar kinda, its not currently running though but I'm seriously considering going back to soft tubing to save myself some time and grief and just get it working again instead of trying to impress people with nice pictures! I'll still be using 780ti's though.

Why is it not running? I don't know what you mean by "going back to soft tubing"?

Pretty certain he's talking about water cooling tubes :)

Yes I thought that, but I don't understand how watercooling it saves "time and grief", unless he already has some funky watercooling set up.

... and we are back up to 4th now :D

Andy is like Blucher coming late at Waterloo and turning the tide of battle :) Though I see your contribution has upped somewhat

Guessing that trying to get the right angle in the right place using hard tubing isn't easy whereas a bit of garden hosepipe is :D

Yes, had a bit of a push but also they lost some output due to hot weather somewhere, bit like Andy's output but they didn't have to go away on holiday :p

I'm trying to make hardline bends using acrylic pipe and I got so frustrated trying to do it I kinda gave up and went and started another build !
When I get home I'm gonna change it all to get it running again asap.
You'd know what I mean if you look at the final few pages of my Midas log by clicking the link in my Signature.

Disaster averted

My one week old new router died today at 5pm (no flowers please)

Took over an hour to get through to support, gave me plenty of time to try all the spare routers I had. They are going to send me a new one using Royal Mail first class, so that may go out Friday but I don't expect it till Monday :mad:

So had to go and pay over the odds for a new one tonight to get everything going again. I had planned on getting a better one but was expecting to research it more and pay a good price instead of being ripped off :mad::mad:

Having installed it I then went round checking everything was happy and found a 290x struggling on Milkyway. It was running at very low clock speeds, 3 tasks were going to take 20 minutes. Trying to do anything with Catalyst meant the screen disappeared though I think CSG was still going. In the end I have taken it out and uninstalled the drivers completely, I'll put it back in after the challenge has finished to see what state it is in.:mad::mad::mad:

Good news, we are pulling away from Evga :)
Orange (who visits here daily :)) also seems to have reduced his output slightly :):)

Eeek.. My undercover lurking is busted :D

Yes, I visit you guy's now and then, especially when we participate in the same challenge.
It is correct I have pulled back, and so may some others. This is because of the PrimeGrid challenge, which is a regular over at EVGA.
Also, this is a part of a challenge series, that goes trough the whole year, so we need to bite hard to stick to our position.

That said, since you bring people back from their vacation, and make them fire up their powerplants, I don't think we could follow you....this time;)

You are a great bunch of crunchers, and I look forward to meet all of you baddies in any upcoming challenge.

Orange :D:D

Orange :D:D

Tea and biscuits all round :D

We finished 4th overall, approximately 340k below the french but 340k above Evga in 5th :)

Not sure who the 'baddies' are, any of you been naughty ?

Welcome back Andy, perhaps leave the keys next time so we can get in and turn your rigs on :p
