H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

Not trolling.

Just reading into reddit etc cause I actually was thinking of buying this today.

But pay2win is a nono, and tbh dumb from the dev side as there are ****load of ways to make money from microtransactions and not affect the game.

Try again witcher, ill just stick with Overpoch

Ahahah the irony :D

10 mins initial experience.

ok so I avoided watching any videos of this game, Purchased it last night and have only played for 10 mins this morning.

First few mins finding a server - lots of queue so joined a med server.
logged in the game graphics and sounds seem to be very nice - ran sweet on my rig.

Ran down a hill on to a road found some cars whilst routing through the cars heard some noises got a bit worried looked around couldn't see anything.

Continued routing through the cars heard more noises - my heart rate shot up ; found the culprit was a small 'Dear' , tried to punch the 'Dear' but it ran off.

Continued routing through the cars, this time heard some footsteps, heart rate shot up - could see a bloke running up the road towards me.

Thought he might be friendly, but he wasn't as his fist landed into my jaw.
By this time my adrenaline had started to kick in, big fist fight in the middle or the road, I landed a few punches but he landed more and killed me.

raged quit and logged off.

So my first 10 mins was brutally entertaining, this must be a good thing!

The only downside I can see is the pay2win SC credit system, hoping it can be easily ignored.

I've had that on Win8.1 think its a game bug. I was unable to quit/close it, had to force log off.

Read anything or found a fix? Does it every time.
Don't really want to install win8 just to find it's something else wrong.

the official forum isn't helpful at al, seeing as it's empty (no wonder insufficent privelage to post here, whats the point then? )

The sounds seem pretty messed up atm, you can't tell where people really are, seems you can hear them close up even if they are not. Nothing major though.

Pretty much sums up every zombie MMO hahaha

It will only get better the further time goes on, especially if you find a group to play with

The immersion in first person when it is dark and raining is pretty amazing. When you go inside buildings the rain noise changes, really done well. Can't wait to play this tonight when it is dark and the game is dark. Oh and JamesM no FPS drops in the towns.

I tried to join the Azeroth server, was in a queue then it kicked me from the game and closed. Loaded it back up to try and re enter but the server is greyed out and I cannot click it to enter.. Also had to make a new name on another server.

You can't rejoin the same server right away, and you have to make different names on different servers so you have a new person on each server. It is to stop people server jumping, although you can delete your name and then use it again on a new server. Bit of a meh way of doing it, hopefully in time they might change the system a bit.

Ah cheers, OK back into the server now, forgot the name but it's not Azeroth.. Does it say in game?

For christs sake, was about to get in, game closed no error. What are they playing at..

Quite. How dare they release an in-development game as early access so that the public can help them stress test and find bugs. How very dare they.

:p

All servers joined will have a green dot near the server name in the list, then when you join the server you can select the player names you have on that server.
