some early footage..
Hmm could be good. Foreglight is a dodgy engine though, very good for big battles etc but very badly optimized for cpu use and unstable. It even has the same suicide screen as Planetside 2.
wont be buying or interested in it.
Never go up against the DayZ fan boys m8. They are all a little sore about how bad SA is turning out, bless em.
I must admit I am disappointed with the SA. The map is boring as no one explores it and I know it too well from having played the mod. If you want interaction there are only a few places worth going to, which is rubbish. The zombies are broken and there is literally nothing to do once you gear up.
I remember the first time I ever played the mod. I had an intense feeling of being totally lost. I eventually met up with my friend and accidentally shot him in the head whilst trying to shoot a zombie... I'd never felt anything like it when playing a game before, and I haven't since really. Once I got over being lost and used to the game mechanics it just became totally formulaic. Sadly the standalone isn't much different. Once you know the formula the fun is lost, and it becomes just a process---for me anyway.
I know what you mean. Day Z just lacks something for me, it seems to have no atmosphere. I think this is one area where War Z (Infestation) was actually much better, the game had atmosphere and was much better at creating suspense. And yes I know the game was a piece of crap in other areas
if they can capture the atmosphere and suspense in H1Z1 they will be half way there imo
I never played War Z, I did try Nether, but I couldn't get into it because it was super hard, and I found the strange proportions annoying , but it had atmosphere despite that.
In my opinion they should take a leaf from S.T.A.L.K.E.R's book in terms of creating atmosphere. Those pitch black nights combined with simple ambient music. Sometimes all you need is a good soundtrack to make something creepy as hell. Sadly I doubt DayZ are going to prioritize music as its not "realistic".
Project Zomboid is another great example. It doesn't look great, but it does the whole zombie survival thing really well, and the simple soundtrack really makes you feel lonesome and tense.
Yup. In the early days of War Z they had this really creepy music that would play at random times. Used to make me jump out of my seat. Don't know why but they removed it. Stalker is very good in this area too like you say.
Just find it hard to get excited about Day Z and Breaking Point
