H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

The game is fine, but most people bought it because...they could, tbh.

no one seems to realise that the term "alpha" is a significant term.

1) They lied about the drops, pay for guns etc making excuses now
2) What they have released as early access, is worse than the videos

It's more than an "alpha" "Early Access" excuse. Thankfully everyone I know has a refund, that's about 10 people so far

They have said since Aug 2014 the drops might contain guns/ammo. Plenty of time to know it was happening, bit late for people to start moaning about it now tbh. It is said 5% got a refund so far, not much is it seeing as 35k are still in game.

Good devs these SOE crew (so far), they listen and they try to work it out, what EA is all about, not people rage quitting the next day........

"It would be helpful to us to see a feedback thread that focuses on the change we made versus having the feature at all. We hear the viewpoint that they should not be in the game and respectfully disagree. So how did this change do? Are they in a good place contention wise and not dropping the guns nearly as often (plus not dropping the AR15 ever)"

Another patch is meant to hit tonight:

1) Loot - more of it. 2) Hunger / Thirst - slower drain rate. 3) Server frame rates - still an issue and we're working hard on it. 4) G29 issue - our platform team thinks they have a fix for the rest of these incoming. 5) Numerous battle royale fixes (note we are not deducting tickets right now and won't tell we're happy with it).

Patch later in the day / Early evening (sorry for the bad patch times but we feel it's better to do it fast this first week at the expense of better patching times.. mostly because better patching times means late night and our developers are already pulling 18 hour days.).

Smed"

This is all stuff on twitter btw just copied here so people dont have to look around for what is going on.

Probably best to wait for release in the future as early access is clearly not for you and your friends.

Let's see I pay for a crate, get a monster sniper rifle and kill a couple unarmed people. Laugh a little feel a little guilty then some clever person creeps up behind me and staves my head in with a rock.

I presume I have now lost that gun?

Not exactly pay to win when you consider your survival time on these games in generally low.

So in the end I'm the mug for paying an airdrop getting some cheap kills and then losing it rather than being outraged at they moved the proverbial goalposts.

Why are there only about 12 EU servers, and 45 million US ones?

Yeah this sucks, but 200 are coming on Tuesday so they say (pretty sure I saw this somewhere it is in my head so I must have seen it).... I am using my time on the US servers just to learn the ropes before finding a EU home after Tuesday.

As I said the early access was a big fat lie for this game, there's more to early access than what the developers have done to this game. I've played plenty of early access titles and beta tested many others for reviews, what these guys did was very shady. Thankfully I can wait, I'll gladly support a dev's hard work but this one is a bit dodgy.

But I'll not knock you guys for playing it, go have fun! I'll wait :)

Just wanted to add how far airdrops go back for h1z1:

http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/16/h1z1-pc-ps4-gamescom-soe-live/

The problem we have here is no research done into the game. They did say right at the start this would not happen, but they changed it and Aug 2014 is enough time to let people know until release in 2015, it was even in live streams and one was even paid for and dropped in the last Friday h1z1 did a twitch feed before release.

For the first time in my life I decided to see what would happen with some random people. It started with one, we met and said "hi" and did some chat, we ended up being 15 people strong LOL. Everyone we met we lowered our weapons and talked in game. We also met a few bandits which I normally play but against 15 players you did not stand a chance. The banter was great as well.

+1 would do again, but not any time soon, I hate people and would rather kos.

Bandit server btw.

Thanks for talking some sense.

Ill give it a go once free, but so far what ive seen in streams, read on reddit (for the one that laughed about reddit, this place is worse from time to time). and the dumbass implementation of microtransactions it's not worth time atm.

Quite good.. I need help on the RIP server.

694px-Stitched_map.png

I'm top of the map by Ranchito, I have a truck but need help from people to build up a settlement. Have lots and lots of food, fuel, wood on me but need metal. Also have about 8x Biofuel so can go pretty much anywhere

Any takers?

I also have lots and lots of spark plugs so if anyone comes across a vehicle in that town and needs some let me know.

I found a secret base in the woods with door locks.. Had a scout around and found their car which I promptly blew up with my bow and arrows haha

Apparently a lot of people have refunded their game through Steam and kept the H1Z1 folder backed up. By using the launchpad.exe it plays and updates and doesn't use Steam.

Now that's free to play ;)

( Mine is uninstalled )
